Kitchen Collectibles > Cannisters & Cake Savers

Due to the new Sales Tax requirements, I will be not be selling anything to customers in AL; Mass., Tennessee; Nebraska, Rhode Island, and Vermont, until your State comes up with a reasonable small seller exemption from State sales tax collection. This policy is subject to change at any time since States are in the process of enacting new laws and changing current laws. Let me know if you are from one of the above States and I will check on updates from your State to see if they have enacted new legislation.

Reasonable offers are considered on non-sale items. The main categories are on left and the subcategories are within the categories.

Antique Royal Bonn Cheesekeeper Antique Royal Bonn transferware cheesekeeper. Or butterkeeper. Being sold as collectible display items and not for food use since I did not make them, nor do I know if they have anything harmful in them. The underplate was not with this item when purchased; so I put a nice vintage Homer Laughlin plate under it that has the same coloring on the rim edge, and looks rather nice with this item. The castle mark dates to 1836-1920. The mark is a green castle; backward FAM mark inside castle, then Bonn, Germany. FAM stands for Franz Anton Mehlem. The cheesekeeper has a vent hole in lid; features gorgeous pastel Irises, and has no chips or cracks but is showing a lot of wear around bottom rim edge. Very beautiful despite not having the original underplate for it, but you do get the HLC plate with it. If it had the original underplate, the price on it would be much, much higher!
Circa: 1836

Artist Signed Porcelain Jar Hand painted porcelain jar. Likely for sugar; not big enough to be a biscuit jar. It could also be used in a powder room for cotton balls, etc. It is artist signed: 'M. Perkins' on the lid. It has no chips or cracks; one pindot in the glaze on lid and one tiny raised area in the porcelain on the lid. It stands 6.5 inches tall. I am confident it is Limoges porcelain. Limoges blanks could be purchased and hand painted by artisans as well as housefraus. It has a raised floral design circling the jar rim. This jar has beautiful soft yellow flowers with purple violets and green/purple background with gold trim. This would make a lovely gift or just to add to your jar collection! 1/14smc

vmixers2014

Retro Kitchen Vintage Mixer Bottles Retro vintage kitchen glass bottles. The metal basket is not vintage and has been painted to match the old lids. First is the large Gemco straw jar. It is 11.25 tall. Next is a cool 'Toddy, A Meal in a Glass' 10 inch tall jar. It has a raised design of a boy on the front. Next is a cool Hazel Atlas paneled 16 oz. drink mixer jar with sifter top. Next is an antique 12 oz. National Dairy malt mixer jar. Last is an antique paneled jar with a zinc masher apparatus. Not sure what this was for, but it does have some rust on the metal and a small rust ring on the interior bottom of glass. It is 7 tall not counting the plunger. 5 bottles in all plus the basket. There is very little age/wear on any of the jars except for the antique paneled jar with the rust as mentioned. Makes a unique kitchen or barware display! 10/14vs

biscuitjar6013

Victorian Antique Covered Jar Antique jar. Likely for biscuits or candy. c: pre 1916. It glows yellow under UV/black light indicating it's age. This is a large jar and quite an oldie judging by the amount of wear on its bottom, but I do not know who made it. It sparkles and pings like crystal but not sure if it is crystal or pressed; hard to tell on this one. It looks a bit oblong in the photos, not sure why, but it is a nice shape in reality, see pic #7 for a better view of it, (it is fatter). There are some long stretch lines on its bottom and on the lid and a long cut line that follows the shape of the bottom pinwheel pattern for most of the way around but not all the way around. Not sure why or how that got there but I'd guess it happened when it was made, see pics 3,4,5. It also has one tiny fleabite on lid. The age/wear flaws on it are hard to find and you just see them if inspecting it closely. It is 9.5 tall with lid on or 6.75 without lid on x 4.5 across top rim. A great old jar that displays very well and could be used for biscuits, scones, candy, etc. 6/13scsr

redroosterkitch1113

Red Rooster Vintage Cannister Set Vintage red rooster kitchen collectible assortment. You are getting Cannisters, Recipe Box, 2 Spice sets, and Hamberger Press. First, is a Flour, Sugar, Tea, Coffee cannister set with a foil label on the bottom of the coffee cannister which reads: Hand Painted Betson's Made in Japan. These can all stack inside the Flour can as shown. The back of the coffee cannister has one tight straight horizontal split in the wood on the backside and the front of the tea cannister has some black smudgy marks, (it looks like the black coloring in the word Tea may have ran a bit), but they display fine, see photos. You also get 2 vintage Japan spice sets with red roosters; the smaller set has more age/wear. Next is a cute recipe box marked: Japan on bottom. It has a perfectly straight, tight split along top rim. Last is the hamburger press marked: Marbo Japan on bottom. Most of these wood rooster items were made in the 1950's and earlier. All have some age/wear; the recipe box and larger spice set could still be used but I don't think I would use the other items except for display. It makes a neat display in a country style kitchen hutch. 11/13
