hatvase9014

Huge Opalescent Cranberry Optic Hat Vase Huge vintage opalescent cranberry optic hat vase. This is the largest one I have seen anywhere but it has a large flaw which is why it's not priced at $350. Someone must have dropped it and tried to re-glue it; you can see the photos. It had pot pourri in it when I purchased it so I did not see the crack until I got it back and washed it out. It still displays well from the front or backside; the large crack is on the side and bottom of the vase. I think it is still magnificent despite the crack but price is reduced. It is 6.5 tall x 10.25 long x 8.75 wide. It might be worth it to have a glass specialist see what they can do; if they can repair broken windshields with liquid glass repair, maybe??? It might be older Fenton, not sure. Despite the flaws it can serve as a big showy statement piece in the curio cabinet where no one will know it is flawed! It is as is, as described and not returnable so please look at all the photos.

Etched Glass Framed Window Panel Etched glass framed window panel. It is very heavy so if shipped outside the MI zone, it will likely cost a lot. It is a very attractive glass with oak frame. I bought this at an art fair about 20 years ago for use in a window; I just redid the room and will be having shutters made so I don't need this item any longer. It can be hung vertically or horizontally if you move the screws. It stands 22.25 tall x 16.25 wide. You could also paint the oak frame another color depending on you style room. 11/17

Stained Glass Panel Great looking stained glass panel. Shipping will be calculated after order is placed; if you want to know before ordering, email me your zip code. It has a loop to hang, or you could cut that off and have it framed. Thick glass. It is 12.5 x 12.5, and in good condition. Estate sale item; it doesn't look new, but is not an antique. Perfect for a small window and would be great in an Arts & Crafts room too; the coloring is similar to Pewabic Pottery and a lot of the early art pottery! You could also put it on the diagonal for a unique look in a custom window. 7/10cs-r

britishglassbook0418

British Glass Book 1800-1914 British Glass book 1800-1914. It does not say lst edition, but reads: First published in 1991 and reprinted in 1993 and 1995. So I assume it is a first edition, 3rd printing. Hardcover; color pages; 466 pages, by Charles r. Hajdamach. The book is in very good condition; upon perusal I do not see any marks or torn pages, however I have not gone through every single page. Binding is tight. The only wear I see is on the dust jacket where it likely had a sticker price on it in the upper right hand corner; that area has some remnants of where the sticker was. The book table of contents cover: Glasshouses; Etching; Cameo Glass; Rock Crystal; Pressed & Cut Glass; Novelties; etc. A must have book if you buy or sell art glass and need to identify it. There is no price guide in it but price guides are worthless anyway since the market fluctuates so much. 4/18
Circa: 1991
Type: hardcover

paintedglass0216

Antique Art Glass Framed Painting Antique art glass framed painting. This is a thick piece of glass, (almost like a slag glass); not sure if you'd call this reverse painting, not really the same. It features a water lily in a pond scene. The frame is like old barnwood that was in really bad condition so I shabby chic'd it. I was going to keep it and hang it in my shabby chic room but it's too big for the area. You can see the old paper on the back indicating its age. I'd guess it dates to the late 1800's-early 1900's. The frame is 18.75 x 15.5 wide. It could be reframed or left as is. The glass is about 10 x 13.25. I do not see a signature on it but that could be under the frame area. It is a really attractive and unique piece of art glass! The reason I do not think it is reverse painting is because the reverse paintings I have seen have very thin paint over the glass, whereas this item is like solid glass or it is painted glass with an overlay glaze on it, not sure. Some ugly reverse paintings I viewed on-line are shown for $250-1200. 2/16

virsuartglass1017

Virsu Studios Art Glass Vase Virsu Studios art glass vase. Stunning vase. It stands almost 9.5 inches tall. No chips or cracks. Irridescent stretch like mauve glaze with flecks of white. The coloring is deeper and richer than the photo shows it. I could only locate one paperweight by this maker on-line; but could not find any information on the company. Since nothing appears anywhere I would assume this studio is no longer in business and did not produce a lot of items. The signature on the bottom reads in white: Virsu and there is something else after that, probably a year date, but I cannot make it out. The paperweight I saw attributed to Virsu dated to the 80's. There is another company called Virus, but is not the same. Very collectible art glass vase.

Antique Moser Enameled Art Glass Jar Gorgeous antique enameled art glass hinged jar. Unsigned, but attributed to Moser. Gorgeous light amber hinged glass jar with enameled flowers and gilded leaves. No chips or cracks, has a bit of wear off the gold on the top of lid, as expected. Bottom rim is very worn, indicative of its age and a pontil mark. It stands 3 tall x 3 wide across top lid. A very beautiful antique glass jar. If it's not Moser it may be Stevens and Williams; other sites show a couple of similar boxes attributed to S&W. Large Antique Moser Enameled Jar Large antique enameled glass box. Attributed to Moser and I think I have found a signature, although it is very tiny and hard to know for sure, but there does appear to be a word in the glass, along lower portion of body of jar, not on the bottom of jar. You need a good magnifier to spot it. This is a good sized beautiful jar with hinged lid. Enhanced with gilding, and embellished with enamel. Just a bit of wear on the gilding, but overall condition is good, no chips or cracks. Stands 3.75 tall x 4.75 wide. Bottom rim edge is quite worn and smooth, indicating a lot of age. If it is not Moser it may well be Stevens and Williams; ebay is showing some similar boxes attributed to S&W. Well worth this price! ddauMC/1.07

Fenton Antique Carnival Glass Bowl Antique Fenton carnival glass bowl. c:1911. 'Peacock Tail' pattern, amethyst color. Gorgeous bowl, shown in the book. No chips or cracks; has some stretch lines on exterior bottom, and one 2 inch line in bottom interior of bowl which I believe is just an irregularity in the glass not a scratch; like a 'glass scar' or stretch line'. Most of the antique carnival bowls seem to have them that I come across. This bowl is amethyst irridescent on both sides of bowl and is 9 wide x 2.5 tall. The line in bottom of bowl is not even visible unless you have it under your nose. It is a very beautiful bowl! #1671-est2/07

No chips or cracks; stands 9.75 tall; bottom is 2.75 wide. Has a slightly white thin ring around top exterior rim of vase; it might be where they polished it after it was made, but is not really noticeable or detracting; the vase needs to be under your nose to even see it anyway. cranberryglass100909

Fenton Opalescent Cranberry Vase Large Fenton cranberry opalescent glass vase. The Fenton book does show this size, shape and pattern but they did not start marking their items until 1970. This vase is not marked and is 10 inches tall. One side is perfect; other side has some minor factory flaws. One is a glass drip, (factory flaw); one is a glass fracture, (it is a 1 inch line that is within the glass itself, you cannot feel anything on the exterior or interior of the glass, and it is hard to even find or get a picture of it. Also, the dots don't go all they way down to the bottom on one side. The book price is much higher. Nice display piece for your Victorian Downton Abbey style room though! 10/09contr#kk

Enameled Satin Victorian Glass Pitcher Antique blown glass enameled pitcher. Polished pontil on bottom. Gorgeous enameled flowers. This is an old one; a lot of wear on the bottom. Satin style glass that fades to clear at bottom. It must have had a lot of gold on the upper and lower rims when it was made but most of the gold has worn off. Applied ribbed handle. No chips or cracks. Almost 11 inches tall. Probably once used for lemonade or water. Despite the age/wear it is a lovely piece of Victorian art glass to display in your curio cabinet! 11/10br#
