Art Pottery Matte Vase Contemporary art pottery vase. Nicely made; heavy duty. Matte green with lavendar interior and blended glaze coloring near the top rim. It looks a bit aqua in the photos but it is actually matte green. It has incised mark: Rick Roncone 2001. No chips or cracks; 2 small dark marks on the body of the vase on one side that are in the glaze itself, see photo #4. One tiny gouge mark on the interior of vase and one tiny glaze skip near the upper rim. Perfect for an arts & crafts style room! It's a beautiful piece of art pottery and in 8 years it will be considered 'vintage'. 9/19

It has a loop to hang, or you could cut that off and have it framed. Thick glass. It is 12.5 x 12.5, and in good condition. Estate sale item; it doesn't look new, but is not an antique. Perfect for a small window and would be great in an Arts & Crafts room too; the coloring is similar to Pewabic Pottery and a lot of the early art pottery! No chips or cracks; dragonfly design. They do not look too old but they have table protectors on the bottoms which can make it hard to judge their true age. They are 4.75 long x 2.75 wide and about 3/4 inch thick. Gorgeous pieces that can fit into an arts & crafts room perfectly even if not quite from that era! 5/15

Matte Green Art Pottery Early matte green art pottery vase. It is green, see picture 4 of it next to a matte aqua vase, and pic #8. Hand formed; has ridges on interior. Might be early Roseville or Pewabic, have not had time to check any books yet. I am in MI so Pewabic is more probable. No chips or cracks; has some stray blackish marks on the exterior which is quite common on matte pottery. It is just a bit over 6 inches tall x 5 wide at top. Vintage Hammered Copper Ewer Great looking vintage hammered copper pitcher. The patina is darker than the photos show it; the camera illuminates the metal making it look brighter than it is. It had felt on bottom which I removed to see if there was a maker's mark. Well made; riveted handle. Not marked but the style doesn't look Turkish; could be old CA or Mexico, both famous for fine copperware. Very nice piece. It is 6.75 tall; perfect accessory for an arts & crafts/mission style room! Vintage Hammered Copper Vessel Vintage hammered copper vessel. It has a darker, richer patina than the photos show it; the camera tends to brighten up metalware. It has a loop handle that is riveted on. It stands 6 inches tall x 8 wide, not counting handle. No maker's mark on it. It has just a couple of dots of green patination/oxidation and one small worn surface area, see photo #8. Overall, it is a very nice piece of solid copper for an arts/crafts room or copper collection. It could be old CA or Mexican copper, not sure but I don't think it is Turkish, style is not similar. The tray is 18.5 long from handle end to other end x 6 wide x 1/2 tall. A really nice example of fine arts and crafts metalware. Original arts and crafts pieces are very difficult to find. Art Pottery Flower Frog Vintage art pottery lilly pad flower frog. Unique, hard-to-find item! Blue blended glazed lilly pad flower holder/frog. This item is shown in the Zanesville book, with same measurements, but another person relates it is also shown in the Fulper book. The clay on bottom is different from ZSC, so Fulper is more likely. Early companies copied each other frequently. This lilly pad has a grease mark on bottom, #50 and what appears to be a letter and then a P, but not sure on the letters because they are quite faded. It measures 3.75 wide one way, and 4 wide another way; and is 1.75 high. No chips or cracks, but does have crazing if you look at it upside down. Can you live without this little beauty?

Art Pottery Antique Milkweed Vase Antique matte green art pottery vase. This vase is a deeper, darker green than the pictures are showing it. It has embossed milkweed or poppy pod and stems. Faint incised number #205 on bottom. Four tiny feet and 3 stilt marks. It has some very minor flaws: a small depression in the clay on rim edge, (no change in glaze or texture); one teensy rim nick; and a tiny dot on a bottom foot that is either a fleabite or a glaze pop. The interior is quite worn and has a dark spot on the interior bottom, and there are some gray lines which is common on antique matte pottery. None of the minor flaws amount to much, I just mention them so you are aware. I believe this is an early Roseville Pottery item circa 1915-1920, but could possibly be another American company. It is 6.5 wide x 3.25 tall. One observer related it might be early Brush McCoy art pottery. It would make a fine addition your Arts & Crafts style room! 3/08ro#

Zanesville Art Pottery Overflow Vase Very large hand thrown Zanesville Stoneware Co. art pottery overflow vase. It is 15.5 tall. Pick up in MI; no shipping; too large. Age est: 1918-30's. Black overflow glaze. Shape no #108, (incised number on bottom). The same shape number is shown on pg. 121 of J. Rans book, (different glaze); ZSC did a variety of overflow glaze colors. The overflow glazes were made at the end of WWI which was 1918. No chips or cracks; one tiny circular glaze skip. Heavy duty; well-made American pottery. Very nice old piece; the unglazed bottom is quite aged and smooth. I believe it is a hand turned piece; there are horizontal ridges on the exterior and interior of vase and no mold lines, but I could be mistaken. Rare find. ZSC was known for their large garden ware which hotels, restaurants, offices started using indoors as well. 4/11s#

artpottery060911

French Iridescent Signed Art Pottery Fabulous signed vintage iridescent art pottery swan vase. c:1891-1957. The signature looks like F. Gazietto, Vallauris, however, a collector has notified me the signature is actually 'J. Gazielle'; (the artist crossed the ll's like t's, and the 'F' is actually a 'J'. This artist worked from 1891-1957 in Vallauris, France. Judging by the dark, worn, smooth bottom rim and all over crazing, I'd guess it is from the 1920's. The iridescent glaze is gorgeous. It looks like Tiffany art glass but this is old pottery not glass. Very hefty. It is 6 inches tall x 6.5 long. According to the collector this artist also had some connection to Weller Sicard and early Pewabic Pottery who also specialized in this type of iridescent glaze. It has 2 minor flaws; one small chip on wing edge and one fleabite on tail feather edge. The flaws look larger due to close-up shots; but in reality, they are not really very noticeable. It is a deep blue/green but also has amethyst in it; when it is dark out, it looks amethyst. The glazing on this piece is spectacular. This is a heavy piece and quite stunning! 6/11smc
Circa: 1891
