jbbookend1014

Antique JB Lady of Theatre Bookend Antique JB comedy and tragedy single bookend. aka Lady of The Theatre. c:1920's. Grey metal clad with deep, dark copperery finish. Very dark patina. Love this bookend! Pairs are selling for over $800 on other sites but they look like faux ones. This is the real deal. Raised mark on back: J.B. 1529; front has C.V.V. This item does have some age flaws; some tiny breaks in the metal; some tiny scrape marks on ladies arm and chest. Some scratches on the front oval portion and 2 pinholes near bottom front ledge. Looking at it from a foot away, you really do not see any flaws due to the dark patina on her. The lady is holding 2 actor's masks: comedy & tragedy, and she has wings. This bookend is 6.25 tall x a bit over 4.5 wide x 3.25 deep. One bookend can be used in a bookshelf or cabinet to hold the books against the other end of the cabinet. 10/14
Circa: 1920

plateau0415

Art Nouveau Plateau Stand Art Nouveau metal plateau stand. This is an art nouveau style metal bowl stand which can be used for oriental bowls, punch bowls or crystal bowls. It is 3.5 tall x 9 inches from end to end or 5.5 wide across top circle and 5 inches to 5.25 across the ledge inside the top rim. It is heavy and can hold a large bowl. I have a crystal bowl that is being sold separately atop it just to show you how it looks with a bowl on it. If you don't like the color you could spray it gold, silver, brass or pewter. I am not sure what the metal is; it might be white brass, or pot metal, but it is not iron even though it is very heavy. It is a great piece to make a statement in a traditional or Victorian style room! 4/15br

Victorian Vanity Jar Victorian antique vanity jar. c: 1800's-1916. Gorgeous art nouveau jar that glows a strong yellow under a black night. It is very clear and in good condition; no maker's mark. The lid is tin or pot metal; and this jar would have been used to collect human hair. The Victorians used the hair to make decorative pictures and wigs. This jar is 3.75 tall x 4.5 wide. There is a little scratch on the interior bottom of jar but it doesn't show unless you open the lid and look down into the jar. You could use the jar for pot pourri or pins, etc. This is a beautiful accessory for your vanity table or to give as a unique gift for the feminine lady in your life! 10/18

Quadruple plate metal box with gorgeous hand painted and enameled porcelain lid featuring a variety of very finely painted flowers. This box is 5.25 wide x 4 deep x 3 tall. Incised circular mark on bottom: 'Pairpoint Mfg. Co., New Bedford, Mass, #967, Quadruple Plate, and P in a diamond symbol'. The porcelain lid is in good antique condition; just missing one small spot of the metal mesh edging, see picture #6; one side of box is a bit corroded; other sides are just tarnished. Pairpoint is best known for its glass, but originally started out as a metalworks company that also decorated Limoges white wares during the early 1900's; thus the lid is likely Limoges porcelain. A small plain Pairpoint silverplate tobacco box sold for $600 according to Worthpoint! This is a one of a kind antique! est8.06#1511
Circa: 1880's
Manufacturer: Pairpoint Mfg. Co.

Antique JB Art Nouveau Vase Antique Jennings Brothers art nouveau metal vase. The metal looks like what is called: 'white metal'. It's not white; it is a silvery color, that is just the name for this type of metal. Very ornate. Incised circular mark: 'Trade Mark J.B. Signifies The Best #338'. 8 wide x 3.5 tall. A gorgeous vase to put a fern or flower arrangement, or pot pourri in. It would be fabulous on a round table, set on an antique plateau! 5/09esa#

Bronze Box Vintage bronze box. This is an extremely heavy box; lined with satin lining. It has no maker's marks on it and it features cherubs. It is 6.75 long x 2.5 tall x 3.5 wide. The metal is just a tiny bit worn in some areas, but overall condition is 'good vintage'. There is a keyhole, but there is no key. I just came across a modern cheapo version of this box at an antique shop, but it was ceramic, not metal. I also saw a similar one on the set of the Batman origin series on Netflix in Bruce Wayne's mansion. 1.08.f/cs

Silverplate Antique Jewelry Casket Antique art nouveau silverplate jewelry casket. Marked: Pat. Aug. 21, 1906, Victor Silver Co., Quadruple Plate, #6140. Good antique condition. It is 7.5 long x 2.75 tall x 2.5 deep. It features flowers and scroll design. The interior satin or velvet lining is long gone. I did not polish it; some like these kept in their current antique condition. It has 4 rounded feet. The Victor Co. was an extension of Derby Silver Co. You can add a silver or velvet lining if you so desire. It is a lovely box for your Victorian collection or to use on your vanity table. 9/22scs

Patented Victorian Inkwell Patented Victorian inkwell. Interior hinge reads: Dec. 28, 97. (that would be Dec. 28, 1897). I believe the metal is stamped brass; very thin and lightweight. The inkwell/jar itself is pressed glass with an intricate hinged lid with a cherub on top. The stand is 1.5 tall x 7 wide. The jar is 2.25 tall. It has a little bit of a rust like tinge/staining on the metal, see photo 8. Only one small spot even shows when the jar is in place. It is a very lovely antique inkwell despite the spot mentioned. Photo 6 is the bottom of it. It would be great in a Victorian or traditional style room, office, parlor, etc. Art nouveau or Rococo style. 1/15est

Art Nouveau Inkwell Art Nouveau inkwell. Very nice old inkwell; deep dark patina on the brass. It is 7 long x 6 deep. The pressed glass inkwell looks cloudy in the pics because I had not yet cleaned it; it was very dusty inside. It is now very nice and clear. A great item for your library/office! 12/09brncs

Dutch Silver Antique Candlesticks Hefty old pair of Dutch Silver candlesticks. Raised mark on bottoms: Dutch Silver #200, FMK & Co. They are 10.25 tall x 3.75 wide. Darkened patina on them. Very sturdy and shabby chic looking! I could not locate any information on F. M. K. & Co., so they must not have been in business very long and probably were made around the turn of the century. You could shabby chic these with some white paint for a great new look since they are not sterling silver and probably have a low silver content. 6/10brcs
