Rural Scene Signed Vintage Print
Vintage rural scene signed print. The first name near bottom of the print is 'Harold'; the last name starts with 'Law . . . , but unfortunately I cannot make out the last letters of the name. Judging by the remants of the back paper, this print likely dates to the late 1800's-early 1900's. The frame has some age/wear but it is mainly on the bottom edges. The wood frame is 14.5 tall x 11.5 wide. The glass needs to be cleaned and it would be beneficial to replace the glass with non-glare glass. The picture is of a country manor with a man pushing a wheelbarrow, a seated female figure and a sundial. It looks like a setting in the English countryside. 1/13

Carved Rock - Love
Carved rock. Incised word: Love on it. This is a very heavy rock; not sure if it is granite or soapstone. It is 4 inches long x 2.5 wide. You can put some oil on it to shine it up if you want. It makes a neat paperweight too! 11/16

Antique Frame and Georgetown Print
Antique oak frame with Georgetown print or the watercolor. The picture has pencil writing on bottom: Georgetown, Washington D.C., M... Stage? Not sure what the last two words say. It looks like the picture was added to this frame at a later date than the frame would date to because some of the nails holding it in are new looking. The frame is 19 wide x 17.5 long. The picture is 10 wide x 8.25 long. The oak frame has some flaking off some of the flowers on it, but its not bad; use Old English medium scratch cover to blend them in. The Georgetown picture looks very striking in this frame. I did not take it out to check whether it is a print or watercolor because there are so many nails on the back holding it in and I do not want to remove them. 11/16

Signed Vintage Framed Art
Signed vintage framed art. Not sure if this is a print or water color as I did not remove it from the frame. It is an oak frame with glass. The artist's signature looks like R. Hopkins or A. Hopkins, not sure. It is in good vintage condition and has an old foil label on the back of the frame: John Willis Art Shop 228-230 Brush St., Detroit, Mich. Note the old State abbreviation. In the frame it is 11.75 wide x 15.5 long; unframed it would be 9.25 wide x 12.75 long. Nice looking vintage art for an office, library, etc. 2/18

Vintage print signed: Smith-Haldt? Nice old print in wood frame. It is 21.5 long x 14.75 tall. Some age-wear, but not bad at all. The scene depicts women and children on a beach; clamming? oysters? lobsters? Not sure what they are doing but one person is holding a large net and they are carrying baskets. Any white spots on the picture are from camera glare; the glass is old glass, before non-glare glass was even made. 1/19

Victorian Candle Shield Oil
Antique signed oil painted candle shield. Bottom of ormolu? base has incised mark that reads 'OOPER'; lst letter is worn off, but in the photo you can make out an 'H'. Attributed to Henry Hooper, a well-known Boston Mfg. of brass, bronze and metalworks. The painting is signed 'Peterboro'. Stunning fine art, oil painting on board. The painting features a church; windmill, cottage; women and children, etc. Painting has all over striations/crazing. One tiny area appears to be just about ready to flake off just above the windmill, (a professional can correct that very easily). The painting is attached to an metal base which has a lever to adjust the shield up or down. In down position this item stands 15.75 tall x 9 wide, (small painting, but truly beautiful!). Candle shields were used to deflect heat away from a person seated near a candle. It is a wonderful, unique item; a work of art for the discriminating consumer! An item you may never come across again in your lifetime. If you need a fabulous furniture accessory, this is it! USA only. 9/06cryau#

Signed vintage oil painting. Very attractive and well done fine art oil on board; autumn scene. Unfortunately the signature is hard to read; all I can make out is J H---- H----. It is a very old painting, likely antique. It needs a couple of tiny nails to hold the picture in the back; some of original nails are gone. Very nice old landscape oil; I cannot locate a signature on it but backside has old paper label: Favor, Ruhl & Co., New York, Boston, etc. It is 14.25 x 17.5 wide in frame; artist board is 9 x 12 wide. Very vell done fine art vintage oil painting on canvas. The signature looks like S. Kams.., cannot quite make out the rest and is dated 1931. It also has the framing date on backside: Aug. 21, 1944 and a Hudson's Detroit foil framing label. Hudson's was the premier high end store in Detroit, MI. It went out of biz many years ago. Very nice vintage art. I believe this is a water color but have not taken it out of the frame to check; it could be a print, but it really does look like a water color. The artist's name is signed in pencil below the picture looks like J. Douril, or Dowert or Dowut?, but that is just a guess. It is very well done, but the frame is rather plain. Artist signed drawing. This looks like a drawing with water colors. Signed L. J. Ulrey? 8-85. It is really nicely done. The glass is not non-glare so the photos did not come out great, and the glass could use a cleaning. This frame is 15.75 wide x 13 long. The original back paper is intact which is why I did not take it out to clean the glass. Great for an office or for the person who loves sailing! 4/13smc

A. Walker Floral Painting Vintage
Vintage floral painting. Oil on art board, signed A. Walker on lower part of the oil. Very lovely older painting. It is framed but I have it stuck in another larger frame that I thought looked nice with it even though it is not an exact fit, you can't tell when it is hung on a wall. The actual framed oil is 11.75 wide x 16 long; with outer frame on it is 15 wide x 18 long. The oil has some small crazing on it near lower left side which indicates it is an older item. Very nice painting! 6/16

Vintage oil painting. This lovely old painting features cows in a meadow. This painting is quite well done and is 24 long x 10 tall; the frame is 28.25 x 14.5. The frame is an antique plaster filigree frame; it has some very minor damage to the frame, see photo #5. The oil is in good condition. I could not see a signature on it. Great to hang above a fireplace, headboard, etc. in a tradition style room! 10/19

Vintage oil painting featuring pansy flowers. This is an oil on canvas board; the board was made by M. Grumbacher, N.Y. There is no artist signature present on the painting itself. Varnished Vintage Oil Painting
Vintage oil painting. It looks like an oil with varnish on canvas board. Very small, but beautiful. It was unframed when purchased; I had the antique frame on hand and just used that for display. The painting does not quite fit in that frame. The painting is signed but I really am not sure what it reads; it could be Slano, or Hand, or S. Lano, not sure. It is 7 inches long x 5.25 wide. It has one little white spot about 2/3 of the way down on front of picture off to the side; see photo 5. The frame is free if you want it but I'd have to adjust the weight and shipping would be more since the frame weighs a lot, (thick wood), and it is not in great condition, see photos. You could probably find a nicer antique frame for this painting. Leave a note if you want the frame; do not pay until I have adjusted the weight unless you are just buying the painting without the frame. 12/16brcs
