Victorian Niagara Falls Trinket Box Awesome antique Niagara Falls brass trinket/jewelry box. The lid is glass with a picture of Niagara Falls. The picture has little cut aways in it seemingly for a 3-d effect. The interior lid has a puffy silk lining, but this is very worn and torn; on the bottom interior there is an old silk piece of fabric with orchids. This box is quite hefty and the brass is very detailed and lovely. There are also 6 bunnies in the box that you get with it, (they were there when purchased). Age est: Victorian era. A great cross-collectible: souvineer and vintage vanity item! One of a kind. 10/08estcs

oil92907

Victorian Candle Shield Oil Antique signed oil painted candle shield. Bottom of ormolu? base has incised mark that reads 'OOPER'; lst letter is worn off, but in the photo you can make out an 'H'. Attributed to Henry Hooper, a well-known Boston Mfg. of brass, bronze and metalworks. The painting is signed 'Peterboro'. Stunning fine art, oil painting on board. The painting features a church; windmill, cottage; women and children, etc. Painting has all over striations/crazing. One tiny area appears to be just about ready to flake off just above the windmill, (a professional can correct that very easily). The painting is attached to an metal base which has a lever to adjust the shield up or down. In down position this item stands 15.75 tall x 9 wide, (small painting, but truly beautiful!). Candle shields were used to deflect heat away from a person seated near a candle. It is a wonderful, unique item; a work of art for the discriminating consumer! An item you may never come across again in your lifetime. If you need a fabulous furniture accessory, this is it! USA only. 9/06cryau#

sampler1115

Needlepoint Sampler Antique Antique needlepoint sampler. Very attractive needlepoint picture on linen that reads: 'Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread'. It depicts a bread loaf, wheat stalks, and rolling pin. It is 15.5 tall x 25.5 wide. Flaws; see photos 4-5; it is missing a piece of the wood scroll motif on the outer right edge of one corner of the frame; and has one faded spot near right side of the linen; otherwise it is in good overall vintage condition. Needlepoint or cross-stitching; not a crafter, so I might be using incorrect terminology. You can leave in this frame, or it would also be great in a Mission style frame! It would be great in a Victorian style room! bmau3/06#1393

sampler10824

Antique Sampler Signed Dated 1784 Antique needlework sampler. Signed: Priscilla Morgan, age 11, PM 1784. It features the alphabet, birds, trees, flowers, woman w/butter churn, etc. It is set in a very heavy wood frame with wood backing, (the corners of the frame have separated a bit, but frame is still sturdy. There is also some paint loss on the frame). The needlework is on a linen background with some soiling as expected due to the aging process, and it has two tiny frayed spots on the linen, (on lower left and right side). Frame is 18.75 tall x 14.75 wide. It would look great in a country, primitive or mission style room. I paid 2 times this amount at a high end auction; my loss is your gain! aucMC1107

Antique Celluloid Accessory Box Antique celluloid accessory box. This box once held manicure implements. The lid features a lady in a row boat. This box is in quite lovely condition for its age and has a blue silk/satin lining. It is 9.25 wide x 3 tall x 5 deep. It has an old paper label on the bottom and some numbers/letters in blue ink; fairly certain it is a vintage Italian paper label. The perfect feminine gift! These antique celluloid boxes are not usually found in this good of condition. au

shave120808a

Antique Silverplate Shaving Accessories Antique silverplate shaving beveled mirror on stand and mug. The shave stand has a hammered silverplate base with removeable bowl for the shaving soap, and holds a shaving brush. Bottom has incised mark that is partially obscured. What I can make out is '---berg Silverplate Co.' and a number. I assume this is a Van Berg silverplate item, N.Y. The silvered mirror is intact but showing its age; it does have some silver loss on it and some cloudy streaks. The stand looks better than the photos show it, and it has not been polished, left as is. It is 12.25 tall. Included is the antique Wallace Bros. quadruple plate shaving mug w/removeable insert. It also has a slot to hold a brush. Engraved initials look like LAR on front. The rim of it is dented in spots but when the insert is in place it displays better. Also included is the vintage but unusued Robberset Made in USA shaving brush. Neat antique items for your new, made to look vintage traditional or victorian themed powder room! 12/08troyant-MC&2/09esa-ck.

It is marked with initials: 'T Hill' on front?, not sure; also has an interior circle mark: 'Manufactured & Guaranteed by Knickerbocker Silver Co., #375, High Grade Metal'. Last is the straight razor w/box that reads: Gebruder Bell, xxxx1876, Grafrath-Soligen, xxx. Not sure if it is bone, celluloid or you know what. Apollo Vanity Tray & Brush Antique Apollo vanity tray with a hand mirror. The beveled hand mirror is not marked, but looks like an Apollo item, (very intricate metal work on it). The tray has heavy brass metal surround and has darkened with age. You can gold leaf it, shabby chic it, leave as is, or use antique gold paint to brighten it up. It is a lovely silvered mirrored tray with some some faint surface and age wear showing as expected. However, once you set your perfume bottles and jars on it, you won't notice any flaws. It is 17 long x 12.25 wide. The mirror is 9 long x 4.5 wide. You can also use these as table centerpieces with a large crystal bowl or vase displayed on it. 1/13

vanityjars0315

Antique Vanity Jars Antique vanity jars. Both jars for one price. The vanity tray is not included. These are very pretty jars. The lids are brassed tin with picture of a colonial lady. The glass is very yellow under a black light indicating these were made before 1916. One of the jars has a fissure within the glass; it looks like a crack in the photo but nothing is felt with my fingertip; it is within layers of glass and is very tiny. The lid on one has a small corroded spot, see photo. The two flaws, photos 5-6, are tiny and these jars are just lovely despite them! You can use as powder jars or for jewelry and trinkets. 3/15s

The glass glows yellow under a black light indicating it was made before 1916. It actually looks better in reality than the photos show it. There is an incised symbol or letters on the lid top; not sure what it means. It is 1.5 inches tall x 1.5 inches wide. No chips or cracks; lid could use a better polish, but it is fine as is. 6/17

Victorian Vanity Jar Victorian antique vanity jar. c: 1800's-1916. Gorgeous art nouveau jar that glows a strong yellow under a black night. It is very clear and in good condition; no maker's mark. The lid is tin or pot metal; and this jar would have been used to collect human hair. The Victorians used the hair to make decorative pictures and wigs. This jar is 3.75 tall x 4.5 wide. There is a little scratch on the interior bottom of jar but it doesn't show unless you open the lid and look down into the jar. You could use the jar for pot pourri or pins, etc. This is a beautiful accessory for your vanity table or to give as a unique gift for the feminine lady in your life! 10/18

Victorian Celluloid Accessory Box Victorian celluloid accessory box. Lovely box featuring a dandy gentleman and flowers on the lid. Brass hinge; pink satin/silk lining. The lining is a bit frayed and dirty; has 3 of the original manicure implements inside. One is a tiny round rouge box; another is a brush; one is smoothing brush. The exterior top is in good condition; side paper is good; front bottom paper near hinge is worn off in areas. This box is 9.5 wide x 2.5 tall x 4.75 deep. These antique boxes are really just for display today because of their fragility. (still has the old paper label on bottom; letters: VVN; almost certain this is an Italian label). (I also have an set of celluloid manicure implements for sale separately).

Antique Painted Wood Tray Large antique painted wood tray. This tray is quite old, possibly Victorian era; has some age flaws, but displays quite nice. It has a glass insert with old wall paper on the back cardboard. I cleaned the glass and put some vintage doilies in there to hide the wallpaper, and the doily colors resembles the painted handles and trim on the tray. You can put whatever you like in there, leave as is, or put in a mirror. This tray is 22.5 long x 15 wide. The flaws on the wood are not really noticeable unless looking for them; you can see a couple of them in the magnified images. This tray is perfect for a shabby chic room or a powder room. 4/09actest-ck

Antique Celluloid Glove Box and Gloves Antique celluloid glove box and gloves. Gorgeous box with celluloid rose picture on top. These boxes were very popular during the Victorian era. Inside has a green satin lining; intact, but is dusty. You also get the vintage white gloves as a free gift! This box is 11.5 long x 3 inches tall x 3.5 deep. Pretty good overall condition; most of the paper is intact on this one. It also has a very nice brass clasp. A beautiful way to store your vintage gloves or ties. Antique English Revolving Butter Cooler Antique English revolving butter cooler. Unique item. Brushed metal with revolving lid, the metal looks like pewter, and there is a glass insert. The glass insert has no dips in it for a cigarette which is why I think it must be a butter cooler and not an ash receiver. It has 3 legs with claw and ball feet. Incised, 'Made in England' mark on bottom, and it is 5.5 tall x 5. wide. You also get 6 crystal or flint glass coasters marked: 'France' on them which were purchased separately. 1/10rocs

Limoges Antique Signed Tray Antique hand painted artist signed Pouyat French limoges porcelain tray. c:1899. Signed, Anna K. Stiotel '99, with green J.P.L. over France backstamp. The painting is quite exquisite, and if it weren't signed Anna K. Stiotel it could easily be mistaken for a Bischoff painting. There is a lot of depth in the painting; it is not just roses on a blank background. No chips, cracks, or repairs. It does have a couple of tiny aging flaws: some white/straw marks on the pink rose and the burdgandy rose, and some wear off the gold on the handle as can be expected for a 100+ year tray. It is 12.5 long x 8.75 wide. Ornately scrolled shape with pierced handles. 5/03brcs
