Antique Yellow Ware Mold Neat antique yellow ware wheat stalk bundle mold. Being sold as a collectible display item, not for food use as it is antique and is probably not up to today's standards for safe food or liquid usage or storage. A very hard to find piece. The bowl in the photo is not being sold with this mold. This one is for the serious yellow ware collector! Nice crisp design; good condition; no cracks; one teensy fleaspeck or glaze pop on top rim edge; and some fine crazing on it. It also has an irregular discolored band circling exterior of mold, (this is very common on yellow ware; looks like a wet spot, but isn't). This mold is 4 tall x 7.5 long x almost 6 wide. It is shown in book 1, by L. McAllister. It looks better than the pictures are showing it; too much sun out when I shot the pics. brcs

Blue Band Yellow Ware Bowl Vintage blue banded yellow ware shoulder bowl. Being sold as a collectible display item, not for food use as it is antique and is probably not up to today's standards for safe food or liquid usage or storage. It is 9.5 wide x 5 tall. Resembles the blue/white banded Watt bowl, but is not identical. It has one depression in rim edge, (might be a very old chip, but edges are very smooth), and a tiny rim nick, (from cracking eggs likely). Otherwise, nice condition to display. ggau1.08

Vintage Spongeware Pitcher Very attractive vintage spongeware pitcher.Being sold as a collectible display item, not for food use as it is antique and is probably not up to today's standards for safe food or liquid usage or storage. Heavy duty; nice size. Interior is white; bottom has dry yellow clay. My guess is UHL Pottery due to the white glaze interior, but it could be another company. No chips or cracks; stands almost 8 inches tall. Saw this one at an antique mall and it was priced at $165 and that one was chipped! 1/12smc

Green Spongeware Pitcher Green spongeware pitcher. This pitcher has yellow flat clay bottom. It is not brand new, but is not 'antique'. It is marked on bottom with a mark then 89/39.99 J358197. Being sold as a collectible item, not for food use since I did not manufacture it and I don't know if it has anything harmful in it. I do not think the 89 is a year mark; it is likely a mold number. The $39.99 is a price mark. This is a very nice looking pitcher; no chips or cracks. Stands 8 inches tall. Likely made in the Zanesville, Ohio region. 5/13scsr

Antique Yellow Ware Bowl Antique yellow ware bowl. Being sold as a collectible display item, not for food use as it is antique and is probably not up to today's standards for safe food or liquid usage or storage. Smaller size bowl. Great to add to your yellow ware collection. It has some minor flaws, but no major chips or cracks. Flaws: a tiny piece of clay waste on exterior; 4 pindots on interior bottom; 3 of which are stilt marks; some glaze bubble pops on exterior. One of the glaze pops is near rim and is about the size of 1/2 of a green pea. The flaws mentioned are normal flaws on antique yellow ware. The bowl displays well and is 7 wide x 3.5 tall. See photos; the images are close ups so the flaws appear more significant than they are in reality. 11/13scsr

Yellow Ware Antique Bowl Antique yellow ware bowl. Being sold as a collectible display item, not for food use as it is antique and is probably not up to today's standards for safe food or liquid usage or storage. Very striking bowl with a green glaze pattern, and it is probably very rare. It does have one chip on one side, but the other side is fine, see photo #5. It is 3.25 tall x 6.5 wide. Despite the chip, it displays very nicely on the other side. Price is reduced for the chip. 10/15

Antique Blue White Table Pitcher Antique blue and white stoneware table pitcher. Being sold as a collectible display item, not for food use as it is antique and is probably not up to today's standards for safe food or liquid usage or storage. A similar pitcher is shown in the 1981 book on Blue/White Stoneware by K. McNerney, pg. 67; see photo #8. The book price on that one was $350.00 The pitcher in the book just has a different shaped handle and a slightly different stencil design. This pitcher is 7 inches tall and has a 2.5 inch long tight hairline with a fleabite on the top of it. It also has some noticeable glaze pops and glaze misses which are common on this old stoneware. See all photos. These pitchers were used at the table for buttermilk and milk and are not easy to find. Since this is really only for display today, I do not consider the hairline as much of a flaw; it displays fine on the other side. Bottom is 5.5 wide. 1/16

Yellow Ware Vintage Bowl Vintage Yellow Ware ten inch bowl. Being sold as a collectible display item, not for food use as it is antique and is probably not up to today's standards for safe food or liquid usage or storage. Attractive old bowl with incised 10 on bottom. It is 10 inches wide x a bit over 5.5 tall. No chips or cracks. It does have a one inch craze line on exterior of bowl but I do not feel any crack with my fingertip so it's just a craze mark at this point in time, see photo 7. It also has some raised wavy lines in the clay that are just the way it was made, (lumpy lines) see photo 6. It also has some crazing on interior of bowl and dark dots and pits. The flaws are very common on vintage yellow ware and if you are familiar with old yellow ware you probably know this. Not sure which company made it; possibly Brush McCoy or McCoy; Monmouth; etc. Great for display in your country kitchen! 6/16

spoonholder0219

Spongeware Spoon Holder Spongeware stoneware spoon holder. The bottom has markings that I think reads: Clay City IN. This is a company that specializes in sponged stoneware crocks, pans, etc. However, when I went to their website they specify they do not make 'hand formed' spongeware and there were no spoonholders, so this might be an earlier piece from another company in Clay City, IN, because it appears to be a hand formed item. There are ridges on the interior and no mold lines. It is 7.25 tall x 5.25 wide. In any event, it is a super nice piece of spongeware and great to hold all your spoons! 2/19s

Spongeware Spoonrests Three spongeware spoonrrests. First is the large cobalt blue spoon rest that is 8 inches long. No maker's mark. Next is a spoonrest with a blueberry pattern. It has a mark but I don't know what it says; it might be Marshall Pottery; it looks like an M on it. This rest is 7.25 long. Last is an unmarked spoonrest with a flower pattern; also 7.25 long. No chips or cracks. Start at Collection! 3/19vs

Antique Captain & Indian Pitcher Antique blue and white Captain xxx and Pocohantas table pitcher, (that's what the book calls it), pg. 77, K. McInerny's book. Being sold as a collectible display item, not for food use as it is antique and is probably not up to today's standards for safe food or liquid usage or storage. It stands 6.25 tall, no chips or cracks. It has a glaze separation line on interior bottom. This is not the same pattern as the 'kissing cousins' pattern; this one is much more rare. Being sold as a collectible display item, not for food use as it is antique and is probably not up to today's standards for safe food or liquid usage or storage.T he small mixing bowl is probably very rare. It is very attractive was likely made by Bennington Pottery Co. It has no chips or cracks and is 3 tall x 5.5 wide. It has what may be a potter's initials on bottom that looks like N I or N with a slash mark. No chips or cracks. It is almost 3 inches tall x almost 5.5 wide. Very nice looking antique bowl. You also get the 2 small custard or cereal bowls with it. The smallest is marked USA, and other one is not marked. The smallest is likely early Brush McCoy and is 2 tall x 4.5 wide; other bowl is 5 wide x 2 tall.

Yellow Ware Crock Glazed yellow ware crock. c.late 19th, early 20th. Awesome piece of yellow ware with the Rockingham and/or Bennington Pottery type glaze; nice details. No chips or cracks, but does have all over faint crazing, and some glaze pops. It has 3 stilt/kiln marks on bottom, and a well-worn, smooth dry bottom rim. It is quite rich looking and detailed, and stands 5 tall x 6.25 wide. The color is actually a deeper, richer, darker brown with yellow showing, see pic #7. A rockingham mug with a similar pattern is shown on pg. 117 of the 1980 book titled: American Antiques by W. Ketchum. The book prices on this type of yellow ware are much higher.

Vintage Yellow Ware Bowl Vintage yellow ware bowl. Incised #9 on bottom. It is actually almost 9.5 wide x 5 tall. It has a couple of flaws: A small surface flake on top rim which is smooth so it is either a really old flake or the bowl was just made like that. Next to that flake is a piece of clay waste and it has a tiny piece of clay waste in the bottom of bowl. On exterior is another imperfection in the bowl; a larger area of unevenness but that area is smooth and glazed over so it was made like that. The bowl has all over faint crazing and it displays very well despite the old flaws. I have sold a couple of other larger bowls like this with the same pattern. This might be in the book on Yellow Ware; could be antique Brush McCoy or another American Pottery Company. 7/21scs

Robinson Ransbottom Yellow Ware Bowl Robinson Ransbottom yellow ware shoulder bowl. Nice looking bowl. It has one stretch line within the bowl; that is not a hairline or a crack; just a pottery imperfection (see photo #5). This bowl is 8 wide across the top and is 4.5 tall. Incised RRP Co. Roseville Ohio with a number mark on the bottom. RRP is no longer in business. This is an older bowl; well aged bottom rim and predates the RRP Terra bowls that have the burgandy bands. This bowl also has one old tiny chip off the bottom dry rim; it is not visible when bowl is upright and does not affect its stance. 1/23scs

Antique Spatterware Bowl Antique spatterware bowl. Being sold as a collectible display item, not for food use as it is antique and is probably not up to today's standards for safe food or liquid usage or storage. Very confident this is early Red Wing, but it is not marked. I came across a pitcher and different shaped bowl with same coloring in one of the old RW books. This bowl has a nice ribbed design which is hard to detect due to the spatter design. The bottom has some spider lines, (I do not feel anything with my fingernail so they are not hairlines, just deep crazing). Interior has some visible age/wear/discoloration, but no chips. It is 8.25 wide x 5 tall. Age est: 1800's-early 1900's. 5/11s#

Antiique Yellow Ware Ribbed Bowl Antique yellow ware ribbed shoulder bowl. It is 10.25 wide x 5.25 tall. No chips or cracks. Lots of tiny goosebumps in the glaze, a tiny glaze pop on interior of bowl; and some discoloration as expected, but overall this bowl is in nice antique condition. I'd estimate its age as early 1900's. It's a really neat looking bowl. Bennington? 1/12dixcs
