Vintage Collectible Yellow Kitchen Vintage yellow kitchen gadgets in a cute wood basket. 9 items, one price! First is the wood basket, not vintage. Next is a very cute spoonrest, not marked but likely Cardinal China or Morton Pottery; good condition. Next are 2 cute pottery flower tea strainers?, at least that is what I was told they are. They do have drainage holes on top and bottom. One of them shows some age/wear, but no chips or cracks. Next is a pottery teaspoon holder with measuring spoons. This is also likely Morton or Cardinal China. Next is a vintage, but like-new kitchen towel. Next is a very vintage one piece apron that fits over the head. Next is a neat German almond grater. Last item is not yet vintage; it is an artist signed and painted cutting board from 1998 which has one small split in the wood. Kitchen cuties if you have yellow, green or white theme going on! 2/13vs

Morton Sun Bonnet Girl Wallpocket Vintage Morton Pottery sun bonnet girl wallpocket. Heavy, well-made piece. No chips or cracks, but the cold paint is worn as you can see. She's in her 4th of July colors! She is shown in the book by D. Hall, Vol. 2, pg. 206. You could remove the cold paint and redo it. These came in several color combinations. This is a girl with a bonnet holding a water bucket by a well. This wall pocket is 7 inches tall x 6 wide about a 1/2 inch thick. A cutie for your wallpocket collection! 6/15

Morton Pottery Double Cache Planter Vintage Morton Pottery planter. Nice vintage condition; it is 5 tall x 11 long with a little frog in the center between the 2 pots. It has 2 clay separation lines near top rim; these are not cracks per se; it is where the clay separated during firing, and glaze fills in; there is a line but the edges are smooth. Really pretty for a windowsill, dresser, shabby chic room, or back of the commode. You can put pot pourri, silk plants, roll tea towels, etc. McCoy also made a double cache planter, but their's has a bird on it and is more commonly found than the Morton. 10/11smc

Small White Vintage Animal Planters Three vintage animal planters for one price! All are gloss white. First is the Morton Pottery bulldog planter. It is 4.5 tall. Next is a duck planter; not sure which company made this one but I'd guess Morton or Brush McCoy. It is also 4.5 tall. Last is the cool cow planter. It is 4.25 tall x 5 long. No chips or cracks; the cow and duck has all over faint crazing. The former owner added the floral foam and flowers which you can remove. Cute criters for your novelty collection! 5/13smc

Yellow Small Vintage Planters Vintage yellow pottery planters assortment. All three for one price. First is the colorful duck. It has no chips or cracks; dry runners. It might be Am. Bisque but I did not see it in my book. It is 6 inches tall x 4.5 long, well made solid pottery. Next is an elephant planter; almost 5 tall x 6.5 long. Last is a bulldog planter. This one is either Morton or Cameron Clay Products; both companies made these bulldogs and both companies are out of business. The dog is 4 inches tall and has 2 small chips on the opening rim edge, see photo #6 closeup. You could dot with pale yellow paint and you'll never notice the flaws. Cute planters for your novelty collection! 9/14vs

Morton Pottery Double Cache Planter Vintage Morton Pottery double cache planter. Cool planter for the windowsill! It has a little froggie in between the 2 pots. No chips or cracks. Some glaze rubs; areas where the glaze missed, see pit #8; and one tiny piece of clay waste on the interior of one pot. Marked: Morton U.S.A. Nice, heavy duty, well-made vintage American pottery! It is yellow and green. 11/14

Click for more detail...

aquapots1214

Vintage Aqua Planter Pots w/Saucers Three vintage aqua pottery planters for one price. = only $16/each! These are good sized planters, even though they look small in the photos; not super large, but not small. All are around 5.5 tall x 5.5 wide. First is a Morton planter that is shown in the book; basket weave design. It has rust on the bottom of saucer and rust on the bottom interior presumably from past usage with live plants. Next is a smooth planter with geometric line design and an incised mark that is deep within the glaze. It looks like a number, then M and ?, then USA. It might be Nelson McCoy or Morton. It has a dry bottom rim like a McCoy or Brush McCoy; the other two have flat dry bottoms. Flaws: pinpops; rub area on top rim and a large unglazed area in the bottom interior of pot; edges are smooth so it's not a chip and you cannot see it from the outside anyway. It also has 2 gouges in the dry bottom rim. Last is a planter that looks like it would be a McCoy or Morton, but it is not marked and I could not locate it in the books. It is thick and heavy with flat dry clay bottom and striated pattern. It has some noticeable flaws: a top rim old chip; glaze pops; some old small chippies off saucer edge. Great old pottery to use or just display! I love to grow Orchids and African Violets in these old planters; plants seem to thrive in them vs. the new junk pottery from plant stores. See all photos for flaws; I tried to get shots of most of the flaws I mentioned but limited by 8 pictures only. The flaws are common on this old pottery and I do not consider them to be very significant unless you are a perfectionist in which case you probably should stick to the new stuff :) 12/14

Morton Planters Vintage Vintage Morton Pottery planters. All three for one price! The aqua is the smallest one; it is not marked Morton, but is the basketweave design, (possibly a McCoy or Brush McCoy). It stands 4.5 tall x 4.5 wide. No chips or cracks. It has some pindots and a tiny piece of clay waste. The medium pot is marked Morton USA and is almost 5 tall x 4.5 wide. No chips or cracks. The largest one is also marked Morton USA ans is 5 tall x 5.25 wide. It has a lot of crazing, inside and out. It was likely used as a planter for live plants. No chips or cracks. These old pots are great for African Violets, faux or live! 2/19

Morton & McCoy Flowerpots Vintage Morton & McCoy flowerpots. Three for one price = only $14/each! First is the white McCoy. It is 5 tall x 5.5 wide. No chips or cracks, but does have a lot of crazing on the interior. Next is a burgundy Morton that is 5.5 tall x 5.5 wide. It has a bit of mineral deposits on the interior that come off with your fingernail, and one small gouge/glaze miss on the outer top rim. It's not a chip. Last is the small burgundy Morton planter. It is 2.75 tall x 3.75 wide. It has no chips or cracks, but has some dirt residue in the saucer area. These older style flower pots are fabulous for growing African Violets or orchids. The plants really thrive in them unlike modern planters which seem to kill houseplants rather quickly. I have put similar old flowerpots like these on the gentle cycle, top rack of my dishwasher and they come out sparkling clean! 10/15

Tall Blue Pottery Vintage Vase Tall vintage blue pottery vase. Not sure who made it; I have not had time to peruse my books yet. I am thinking Rumrill, Morton, or Monmouth, but it could be another company. It has no chips or cracks; some pinpops. Dry bottom rim with tanish clay. It stands 10 inches tall x 6.5. It would be really stunning with white or yellow daisies displayed in it! 5/16

End-of-Day Rare Vintage Vases Three vintage End-of-Day novelty vases. All 3 for one price. These are hard to find, unique small bisque vases with glazed interiors. They look identical to the ones pictured in the 1995 Vol. 2 book on Morton Pottery by D. Hall, pg. 256, photo #120; but could also be UHL, Camark, or another vintage American pottery company since most of the old Am. pottery companies made similar items. They are 3.5 tall, 1.75 inches wide across top rim, or 2.5 wide from end of handle to other end. The UHL book refers to this type of pottery as End-of-the-day pottery. One of the vases is in very good condition, no chips or cracks. The other has a fleabite on top rim and on the backside of it looks like the color didn't take too well, (it is faded looking, pic #6). 3rd vase shown: not sure if colors faded or if it was just made like this. These were glazed on the inside so they could hold water and be used as bud vases. The exteriors were left bisque and then decorated by dipping them into water in which water spar enamel was floated; see Morton book.

Vintage Morton Pottery Bird Wallpocket Vintage Morton Pottery bird wallpocket planter. Cool vintage bird wallpocket planter, (cockatoo?). It is listed as a Morton Pottery item at the Junkie Monkey website. This old bird has no chips or cracks, some interior soil residue which comes off with your fingernail, and some tiny pinpops in the glaze. Overall condition: good vintage. He stands about 8.25 tall and almost 5 wide. A great old bird for your collection!

parakeet1219

Vintage Parakeet Planter Vintage parakeet planter. This is a good sized planter even though it appears small on the photos. It is larger than most of the Morton Pottery birds. I think it is likely Royal Copley or Am. Bisque due to the wedges on the bottom; but could be RRP or Mortion. No chips or cracks. It stands almost 8 inches tall. It would be very cute with a faux plant in it. Very neat vintage planter! 12/19

Vintage Barrel Mug Vintage barrel mug. Aqua glazed barrel style mug. These types of mugs are shown in the Zanesville, McCoy and Morton pottery books c.1920's and they all look very similar, so it is hard to differentiate between them if they are not marked. Morton Matte Yellow Vintage Vase Lovely matte yellow vintage vase. It is not marked, and I thought it was probably Camark, but I have located the identical shaped vase in the Doris Hall, Vol. 2 Morton book, pg. 210. It would be mold no. 274. The one shown in the book is a smaller size; this one is 8 inches, but most companies made their wares in assorted sizes. It is a very nice creamy yellow color, not quite as dark as the picture shows it. It has a white clay dry bottom rim. No chips or cracks. It is 8 tall x 6 wide. 9/11scsr

spongepitcher110211

Antique Spongeware Pitcher Roseville? Awesome antique brown spongeware pitcher. c:1880's to 1900's. I am confident it is Roseville Cornelian, but it is possible it could be Morton Pottery. It has some gold near the top rim edge and raised leaves and poppy? flowers. The gold is under the glaze. The only company I know that made them with gold was Roseville and Morton. This beautiful old pitcher has crazing and a few glaze pops and tiny glaze separation lines, (that happens during firing, especially on old pottery like this). It stands 7.5 tall x 4.5 wide x 19 inches around body. The bottom rim has some teensy old smooth chippies, nothing major; it stands fine and they are only noticeable if you turn it upside down and inspect closely. This might be a hand formed piece; it looks like there are ridges on the interior. It is a very unique antique piece of sponged pottery. 11/11smc
Circa: 1900's
