Signed Vintage Framed Art Signed vintage framed art. Not sure if this is a print or water color as I did not remove it from the frame. It is an oak frame with glass. The artist's signature looks like R. Hopkins or A. Hopkins, not sure. It is in good vintage condition and has an old foil label on the back of the frame: John Willis Art Shop 228-230 Brush St., Detroit, Mich. Note the old State abbreviation. In the frame it is 11.75 wide x 15.5 long; unframed it would be 9.25 wide x 12.75 long. Nice looking vintage art for an office, library, etc. 2/18

Early Zanesville Matte Green Vase & Frog Antique Zanesville matte green dish garden and frog. This vase/planter is shown on page 198 of the ZSC book, shape 208; c:1920's. Very nice condition for its age. It has 3 stilt marks on bottom and no chips or cracks. It is 7 wide x 3 tall with a raised leaf design. There are a couple of pin dot pops in the glaze as expected for ZSC. You also get the mottled matted green flower disc to display in it, 2.5 wide x 1 tall. Pic #5 shows it next to a ZSC aqua jardinaire. Outstanding pottery for your arts & crafts collection! ro-cs8/09+frg

Antique Hammered Copper Vase Awesome antique hammered copper vase. This vase looks a bit small in the photo, but this is a good sized vase. Incised mark: 'Mexico'. This is a really fabulous piece; very attractive with a great patina. Age est: 1910-20's or earlier. Nice condition; quite hefty with wrought iron handles that are riveted onto the base with old deep reddish paint on the handles. It stands 10 inches tall x 9 wide. A great furniture accessory. Mexico is well known for their fine copper and silversmiths. One of the nicest pieces of copper I have on hand right now. 11/09actestblmf#2707

copper1212

Vintage Hammered Copper Vessel Vintage hammered copper vessel. It has a darker, richer patina than the photos show it; the camera tends to brighten up metalware. It has a loop handle that is riveted on. It stands 6 inches tall x 8 wide, not counting handle. No maker's mark on it. It has just a couple of dots of green patination/oxidation and one small worn surface area, see photo #8. Overall, it is a very nice piece of solid copper for an arts/crafts room or copper collection. It could be old CA or Mexican copper, not sure but I don't think it is Turkish, style is not similar. A great addition to your arts and crafts room or copper collection. 12/12rocs

mattevase80409

Early Arts & Crafts Matte Vase Early hand thrown blended matte glaze vase. Possibly Rookwood, Arequipa, Wheatley, Pewabic; the style/pattern looks similar to several vases shown in the Arts & Crafts book. Nice size vase. It is hand thrown and quite hefty and is almost 8 inches tall. Incised mark: M. T. #230. It has some crazing and one small chip near top rim which does show on one side. A professional repair might be worth it since this was most likely made by an important company/artist around the 1900's. There was an artist with these initials that worked for Weller, but I doubt this is a Weller. Pottery artists moved around frequently. Price reflects the flaw. Perfect for your Arts & Crafts room! In a good economy this item would be priced at $1200. 8/09intest#

Click for more detail...

artscrafts80409

Arts & Crafts Matte Green Vase Arts and crafts matte green vase. Deep, dark color. Yellow clay peeking through bottom. Might be Rookwood or another great maker. The incised geometric design is very similar to a taller Rookwood shown in the A&C book by Treadway Gallery 1998, pg. 85. This vase has an underglaze #218 mark on bottom. It stands 6.25 tall x 4.5 wide at top rim. It has a very tight hairline on top that goes through to interior; the exterior of the hairline has 2 teensy fleabites near it, see pic 4-5. It is quite an old one; age est: 1900's. This came from an estate in Troy, MI; the deceased owners had quite a collection of art pottery. The price reflects the minor flaws. A wonderful addition for your arts & crafts collection. This item is as is, as described and not returnable so please read description and view all photos before purchase. If item is lost or damaged in transit, you must file a claim at usps and I will provide you with the postal receipts. 8/09inteset#

pbrd04042

Signed Vintage Art Pottery Vase Signed art pottery vase. Very unique art pottery. It is a heavy, exceptionally well made matte aqua vase or ashtray that looks like Arts & Crafts/Studio pottery to me. It also bears an incised number and name on the bottom dry rims, however, I could not make out the name, so I put a water-based paint wash just over the incised mark to see if I could make out the name. It looks like there is a G-i-or l, then another letter, then an x, and then I can't make it out. The number looks like 4001 or 4004. (the paint has been removed). This item is in good condition, (the pics show some dirt but I have since cleaned this off); all-over very faint crazing that you can only see upon very close inspection. Again, the pics on this one just do not capture how really well-made this item is. It measures 6 long, 3 wide x 4 tall. Age est: 1920's.

Koppit Vintage Basket Museum quality vintage Koppit basket. Fabulous, beautifully made, tightly woven basket called a 'Koppit' basket; good condition, only the strap handle is showing some wear. Internet research shows an identical basket on 2 museum sites, one has a collection of items from the 1890's; and these are said to have been made in the Phillipines. This basket has a nice darkened patina on it. Not sure of what the function of this basket was, but it is very tightly woven and well-made. This basket has three compartments, maybe for sewing items or fishing or pipe & tobacco basket? Each compartment fits into each other and the woven handle holds it all together. It is 9.5 long x 6 high x 4 wide. When you pull the top piece up, there appears to be some type of resin on each of the four bottom corners of the next basket part and there is a shallow basket, then when you pull that piece up you get a deeper basket. A true work of art!

Antique Royal Zinn Inkwell Attractive antique Royal Zinn inkwell. It has a nice dark patina on it even though it looks bright and shiny in the photos; the camera tends to illuminate metal objects. This lovely copper finish over pewter or tin inkwell has a glass insert. It actually is much better looking than the pictures show it and is quite hefty. It has a raised logo on the bottom and #1062 Royal Zinn. It is 11 long x 5 deep x 2 tall. Some age/wear off the copper part where a pen would lay, but it's not bad. It looks very Arts & Crafts era, (age est: late 1800's-1920's). This is a very nice desk accessory! djau1206#1606-CC

brpmc12036

Brush McCoy Tall Onyx Vase Antique Large antique Brush McCoy brown onyx tall vase. c.1910-30's. Impressive 12 inch brown onyx vase made by the Brush-McCoy Pottery Co. This vase is shown in the 10.5 inch size in the 1992 book by M. Sanford on pg. 45, bottom left side, and did come in the 12 inch size, (see catalog page). This vase is quite heavy; well-made, and has a very worn, aged, smooth dry bottom rim. It has a couple of small scratches on the body, but nothing that you will see unless looking at it up very close in strong lighting. It also has one tiny fleabite on interior of top rim. And, it has all-over faint crazing, only visible in direct sunlight. Nothing really to detract from this magnificent old vase. Great accessory item; put some corkscrew willow branches in it! I will add the shipping onto the invoice after the order is placed. If you want to know what shipping is prior to ordering, email me your zip code.

mccoy80505b

Brush McCoy Willow Ware Cuspidor Antique Brush-McCoy Willow Ware cuspidor. c:1916. Shown in the 1978 book by S. Huxford; the updated value in 1996 was $115-175.00, see pg. 60-61. For a clearer image of the pattern on this cuspidor see the book by M. Sanford, pg. 29, top right; shows a chamber pot with the same design on it; and the cuspidor is shown on pg. 31, top right. It is hard to see the design on the dark brown Willow Ware items, and easier to see on the blue and white Willow Ware. Very heavy and is 5.25 tall x 7.5 wide at top rim. It has one chip off bottom dry rim; barely visible when cuspidor is upright. Also has one clay gouge in body of cuspidor, (that is glazed over). It can be displayed with other stoneware; on a wetbar; or used as a planter for a fern or orchid! A great piece for your BM Pottery or antique stoneware collection!

tquilt09094

Vintage Applique Quilt Vintage hand stitched applique quilt. This is a very old quilt, all hand-stitched, and looks like it dates to the 1920-30's, but could be earlier. This quilt is heavy, and the hand-stitching is extremely fine, tiny, tight, and super even. The person who sewed it must have went blind! It has approximately 15-20 stitches per inch, (teeny-tiny). It is in good overall vintage condition, no holes or tears, and just saw one spot on it, but I did launder it already. An almost identical quilt is shown in a book on Mission style furniture & textiles, it just had a different color applique on it and dated to the 1920's.
