Antique Earthenware Biscuit Jar Antique earthenware biscuit jar with transferware design. Lid and rim has EPNS mark, = electroplated nickel silver. 99% sure it is a Staffordshire jar/pattern. Nice deep cobalt blue with flowers and gold trim and fancy handle. Has faint crazing, and some wear on the gold but no cracks or chips. Also on one side of metal lid rim are two small worn areas; see photos. This is a good sized jar and was likely made in England in the late 1800's. It is 5.5 to lid rim; 7 inches to finial, and 10 inches tall if handle is up. It is a very lovely old jar. Once used on Victorian tables for tea biscuits. 8/08nyant-MC

There is some crazing and there is a teensy hairline on the handle of the spoon; other than that there are no chips or cracks. The bowl has an orange crown backstamp and no. #2955. Likely English. I have an antique biscuit jar with a similar pattern that is English. The bowl is 4 tall x 7.75 wide across rim or 8.5 wide from outer body to other side. The utensils are 11 inches long. pairpoint83006

Hand Painted Pairpoint Box Antique Pairpoint silverplate box. c:1880-early 1900's. Quadruple plate metal box with gorgeous hand painted and enameled porcelain lid featuring a variety of very finely painted flowers. This box is 5.25 wide x 4 deep x 3 tall. Incised circular mark on bottom: 'Pairpoint Mfg. Co., New Bedford, Mass, #967, Quadruple Plate, and P in a diamond symbol'. The porcelain lid is in good antique condition; just missing one small spot of the metal mesh edging, see picture #6; one side of box is a bit corroded; other sides are just tarnished. Pairpoint is best known for its glass, but originally started out as a metalworks company that also decorated Limoges white wares during the early 1900's; thus the lid is likely Limoges porcelain. A small plain Pairpoint silverplate tobacco box sold for $600 according to Worthpoint! This is a one of a kind antique! est8.06#1511

Gorham Silverplate Crystal Vanity Box Vintage Gorham crystal box with silverplate lid. Lid is marked: Gorham EPYC 1847. Floral scroll design on lid. It has two teensy chigger bites on the edges of the thumbprint pattern but those are hard to see or even find unless it is right under your nose. It is a gorgeous box despite those minor flaws that you can use for powder or trinkets or just to display on your favorite vanity tray! Some of the photos make the lid look gold, but it is silver; just a difference in the lighting and background makes it appear gold. The box is 2.25 tall x 3.5 width. The price reflects the tiny flaws. 11/13brcs

Click for more detail...

crystalshakers2014

Crystal EPNS Vintage Shakers Elegant vintage crystal silverplate shakers. The lids have incised EPNS mark on them. Gorgeous shakers. I really thought these were Waterford because I have a pair of Lismore shakers that are the same shape, weight, height, but different pattern see photo #5, but I cannot find an etched Waterford mark on these, just the EPNS mark. And, my Waterford's have a stainless lid, not silverplate, as these do. They are very clear and sparkling, and are 3.75 tall. The lids were black when purchased from an estate and they had salt & pepper still in them. I dumped that out, but one has a tiny tad of white residue on interior bottom which you can only see if you turn it upside down. Not sure if that can be removed or not but since it not visible from top display side, I do not consider this a flaw. 2/14sst

Vintage English Jam Jar Set Vintage English jam jar set. Very nice pressed glass jam jars with silver plated lids. The lids and stand are marked: Silverplate England. These are nice size jars, very practical. Most of the ones I come across are very tiny and not very functional for actual use. The jars are 4 inches tall up to lid finial x 3.25 wide. No chips or cracks; 4 molds lines. The metal was black when purchased so I did a light polishing just to be able to find the marks. The stand could be polished more but I leave that up to you. If you like to serve marmalade/jam at your elegant breakfast or at teatime, this is the perfect set for you! Age est: 1920's-40's. 1/15

Vintage Jam Jar Vintage jam, marmalade or sugar jar. Very elegant jar, (enlarge the photos). The silver plate spoon that was with this when purchased is marked: Masterpeice Silverplate, Japan. Not sure if was original to this jar or not. The jar appears to be a pressed cut glass/pattern glass. Very sparkly. The lid and spoon were black when purchased so I polished them with Maas silver cleaner. The jar is 5.5 tall up to lid finial x 3.25 wide. No chips or cracks. Age estimate: 1930's-40's. An elegant jar to use or display in your formal dining room! 12/18

Antique Crystal Royal Trophy Pitcher Elegant antique cut crystal claret royal trophy pitcher. c:1908. Royal memorabilia. Elegant cut crystal continental claret trophy jug with silver engraved lid. Glows yellow under a black light. This pitcher apparently was given as a golf and/or tennis trophy; the lid reads: 'Mixed Foursomes Carlsbad July 23, 1908, Baroness Heine-Geldern and James D. Standish Jr'. It stands 11.5 tall. No chips or cracks, and just some very fine, small scratches as can be expected from an almost 100 year old piece of glass! The lid has 3 hallmarks on the underside, however, they are so tiny I cannot read them even with a magnifier; presumably sterling, but might be silver plate! A one of a kind item that you will never come across again! 1-04ddauccv;can'tlocate

Antique English Biscuit Jar Large antique English biscuit jar. Gorgeous jar with silverplate lid. The hallmarks are: R R or R P, another letter which is worn, then L, 772, and RP or BP in a crown. It is crystal or cut glass, not pressed glass. Bottom is very worn indicating a lot of age. No chips or cracks; has one bubble in the glass; a tiny scratch, a couple tiny dots of tarnish on lid, and a small ding in rim of metal, but nothing major.
