Hull Pottery Bear Planter Vintage Hull Pottery bear planter. c.1930's Shown in J. Snyder's 2001 book. The one shown in the book is priced over $100, however, it has more cold paint on it, and I believe it was signed by the artist. This one has only the cold paint on his face left. Good vintage condition though, no chips or cracks. Incised mark: USA #63. 6 long x 5.25 high. Great for shabby chic decor or for your Hull or novelty collection.
Circa: 1930

wallpocket100411

Vintage Flower Wallpocket Matte white vintage art pottery wallpocket. The flower might be a climbing rose. This feels and looks like it could be a Hull or Weller but I have not located it yet. It has a couple of minor visible flaws. It has a tiny surface flake off rim of planter, some discoloration on surface there also, and a couple of gouges and pinpops. The discoloration is within the glaze and it was made this way wherever it was made. A small trailing silk plant would cover the flaws nicely. The backside, which you don't see has some larger pops and a fleabite on bottom back. It has an eyehole for hanging and is 7 tall x 6 wide. Great for a shabby chic room, powder room, etc. 10/11gibcs

hullyellowware10412

Antique Hull Yellow Ware Bowl Antique Hull Pottery yellow ware bowl. Blue bands. Incised mark: H in circle; #421, 8. It is 8 wide x 4 tall. This is being sold as a collectible display item; I did not manufacture it so I do not know whether it is food safe or not. There is some discoloration; this is common on antique yellowware, and 2 old small chips on top rim edge and a few tiny fleabites on top rim. Antique yellow ware is very brittle, porous pottery so it tends to discolor over time and is very prone to chipping especially if it was used to crack eggs on the rim. It still displays rather nice. 1/12scrs

hullpottery1014

Rare Hull Pottery Watering Can Rare Hull Pottery. Incised mark: U.S.A. 33 5 1/2" which corresponds to the book, pg. 33, 7th edit. by J. Hull. This item is actually 6.25 tall. It is shown in that book as a 'teapot', but there is no lid with this item and it does not have any type of ledge for a lid to fit in the top, so not sure if it was really was supposed to be a watering pitcher vase and someone just stuck a lid on the one shown in the book and said it was a teapot?? I have found the books to be incorrect on many occasions. I really doubt this was supposed to be a teapot; it is the wrong shape for a teapot and it has a rather large opening with no ledge for a lid. The pattern could be open rose, or granada/mardi gras, not sure. It has some flaws: a lot of crazing; some pindots, and it has 2 small hairlines; one on the top area and one on the cross bar area leading to the spout. Both are tight. The other lines are just spider lines, not hairlines. It also has a small depressed whitish area on top rim which looks like a chip in the photo but this is glazed over and is just an imperfection in the clay. Despite all the aging it displays fine on a shelf. Please enlarge and view all photos. The reduced price reflects the flaws. I have only seen one other one on the net and that one sold quite awhile ago and it did not have a lid either. 0/14

Antique Hull Pottery Jardiniere Handsome antique Hull Pottery jardiniere. c:1920's. Very cool old jard; nice size and it looks better in person than in the pictures. It has one small, tight, faint hairline near upper rim on one side that is about 1/2 inch, pic #5. And, it has one pea size glaze pop, pic #6. This jard is 6.5 tall x 7.5 wide. The books states this is stoneware, and it is quite hefty. Shown on pg. 100, row 2, J. Hull book price was $125 in 2001. Bottom has H in a circle, #546. A nice, very hard to find piece of pottery for your Hull collection! A fern or orchid plant would like nice in it and you'd never know it has any flaws at all! dix11/08#

Interior has a couple of scratches and is a bit of discolorization, but is not bad. It looks really modern; likely made in the 1960's. It stands 4 tall x 7 wide. You could use it for pot pourie; fancy bath soaps, etc. This style vase also looks great with polished river rocks and some faux plants, see photos. You can spruce up this older white pottery with Rustoleum satin matted white paint if you wish. 11/11estcs

Hull Pottery Child Head Vase Vintage Hull Pottery child head vase. Incised mark: USA 62 which corresponds to the book. This item is shown in the book with a lot more cold paint on it, see photo #6. This vase is missing most of its original paint but you can redo it if you are crafty. Just use the same coloring as the book. This is a heavy duty vase; I thought it was American Bisque pottery at first, but it is Hull. It stands 6.5 tall x 6 wide; no visible chips or cracks; one surface flake off the bottom rim which does not show or affect stance. There is some dirt on the interior bottom which I leave to you to clean. 11/16

Vintage Animal Planter Assortment Five vintage animal planters. All for one price. All are gloss white, and were once cold-painted, though most of the paint is long gone. These are listed individually also, but it is more economical to buy as a group. First is the Hull Pottery bear planter, incised mark: Hull USA #63; heavy and no chips or cracks. Next is a dog head vase; old Shawnee or Weller is my guess. Thick, dry, OLD bottom rim, no chips or cracks; stands 7 tall. Next is a Shawnee seated dog. It is 6.5 tall; has one surface chip off bottom which really doesn't show when upright. Next is a cute pig planter, likely American Bisque Pottery; has one teensy hairline near top rim pic #8; cold paint intact. Last is a cute, heavy, elephant planter; 5 tall, no chips or cracks. vs9.07

hullbowl1013

Hull Pottery Mixing Bowl Vintage Vintage Hull Pottery mixing bowl. Shown in plate 10, pg. 41 of B. Roberts 1980 book. This is being sold as a collectible display item; I did not manufacture it so I do not know whether it is food safe or not. This bowl is 9 wide x 5.25 tall. Incised mark: E-1-9 USA. Good sized bowl. No cracks but it does have some age/wear flaws. It has a lot of pinpops within the bowl; some scratching on bottom of bowl and 3 stilt marks that are on the bottom of bowl and which came through to interior of bowl. It also has some discoloration on bottom interior, some clay waste on the exterior and some tiny gouges in the clay. This is an old bowl and those types of flaws are very common. The price reflects the condition. The exterior displays fine. I think these were made in the 1930's. You could put faux fruit in it as a table centerpiece. 10/13
