Rare Antique Ironstone Soup Tureen Rare antique ironstone soup tureen.. Made by J.W. Pankhurst, Hanley, England. This company was only in business from c:1852-1883. Good antique condition; no chips or cracks. A couple of black pepper dots, (hot ash marks when fired?) see photos; and 3 stilt marks on the interior bottom. This company was preceded by William Ridgway and was taken over by Johnson Bros. The bottom reads: Stone China which is the same as Ironstone according to my research. This large tureen is about 10.5 tall x 13 wide from handle end to other handle; the bowl is 9.25 wide. Very nice and can go in a Victorian or a more contemporary dining room since it's white! Usable too! If the shipping amount comes up weird, e-mail me before payment and I will check it for you. grc2/18
