Antique Fielding English Biscuit Jar Antique Staffordshire tea biscuit jar. This is a big fat jar even though it appears somewhat small in the photo, I had to take the photo from further away to get it all in. This Victorian era earthenware jar has incised EPNS Made in England on lid, = electroplated nickel silver, aka silver plate. The bottom is backstamped in brown: With Peek, Frean & Co's Compliments, crown symbol, S.F. & Co. England, and an initial; and there is a raised square with a number in it = S. Fielding & Co., Stoke, Staffordshire. No chips or cracks; but does have some crazing. The floral design appears to be transferware with some hand painting. It stands 6 tall; top rim is 4.5 wide. There is some age/wear and pits on the upper metal rim, and one little crackle in the silverplate rim edge, see photos; but overall, this item is quite nice. A delightful jar for your collection! 11/14ggar#
Circa: 1800's

Antique Biscuit Jar Stunning antique biscuit jar. The pictures are not showing just how magnificent it really is. It has gold highlights; and the lid and rim are marked EPNS. It is 6.75 tall up to finial x 5.25 wide. There is a red mark on the bottom but it is so worn I have no idea what it says. I would attribute it to an English company in the Staffordshire region but that's my opinion based on similar looking items I've sold in the past that had markings on them. It is transferware on earthenware. The perfect feminine gift! 11/14ut

crackerjar1114d

Antique English Cracker Jar Beautiful unique antique English porcelain jar. Imari design. Very striking jar. Unusual size; possibly for sardines or crackers. The rim and bottom of jar are clearly marked with an English Flag and crown symbol, H.R.S. & Co., 0365; the silverplate rim has incised Flag and crown, EPNS, H.R.S. & Co. I could not find any information on this company; and could only find one item made by it which is a mustard jar listed on another site. This is a beautiful little jar standing only 2.75 tall without lid on or 4 inches tall with lid on. It does have some crazing and spidering on the interior bottom and exterior bottom of jar. The perfect gift for the person who collects unique porcelain biscuit, cracker, or sardine jars. 11/14

Antique Earthenware Biscuit Jar Antique earthenware biscuit jar with transferware design. Lid and rim has EPNS mark, = electroplated nickel silver. 99% sure it is a Staffordshire jar/pattern. Nice deep cobalt blue with flowers and gold trim and fancy handle. Has faint crazing, and some wear on the gold but no cracks or chips. Also on one side of metal lid rim are two small worn areas; see photos. This is a good sized jar and was likely made in England in the late 1800's. It is 5.5 to lid rim; 7 inches to finial, and 10 inches tall if handle is up. It is a very lovely old jar. Once used on Victorian tables for tea biscuits. 8/08nyant-MC

Antique Biscuit Jar Daffodils Beautiful antique English transferware biscuit Jar. Both the lid and rim of jar rim have incised mark: EPNS, England, and it looks like 2 marks then C & S Ltd. The C&S Ltd is visible, the lst 2 marks are hard to discern. There was a Clark & Sewell Ltd, Sheffield, England so I assume they made this jar. Bottom has red Crown and B2841. No chips or cracks; has some crazing, more prominent on the bottom. It is earthenware with transferware flower design that look like Daffodils. This jar has some tiny dark spots here and there on the body of jar; those are under the glaze, might be hot ash marks from when it was fired. It is 7 inches tall up to finial. A very attractive jar despite the minor age flaws. 11/14

Stunning Antique Biscuit Jar Drop dead gorgeous antique biscuit jar with gold background and large blue leaves. The lid has an EPNS mark which is very worn. It also has a faded brown crown backstamp that it is too old and blurry to make out what it once said. It also has a number and an initial B. It is smaller than a regular size jar, but not as small as a sardine jar. It is 6.75 up to finial or 5.25 up to lid rim edge. It has a handle and no chips or cracks. Some dark tarnish around the rim of the silverplate. It is a gorgeous old jar; likely English. Possibly an early Macintyre & Co., Burslem, England, the predecessor of Moorcroft.

The photos do not show how clear it is because of the wavy lines in the glass making it appear dusty in some of the photos, but it is a very clear jar. It does not appear to have been used. It has a diamond pattern with arches/panels. Too large to be a candy jar. A gorgeous antique jar for your collection! 2/23scs

Antique English Biscuit Jar Large antique English biscuit jar. Gorgeous jar with silverplate lid. The hallmarks are: R R or R P, another letter which is worn, then L, 772, and RP or BP in a crown. It is crystal or cut glass, not pressed glass. Bottom is very worn indicating a lot of age. No chips or cracks; has one bubble in the glass; a tiny scratch, a couple tiny dots of tarnish on lid, and a small ding in rim of metal, but nothing major. It displays beautifully and is almost 7 tall up to rim; or 9 tall up to finial. Perfect for biscotti at your next tea party! 4/0porth-ck

Antique Art Glass Biscuit Jar Antique enameled glass biscuit jar. This is a stunning green glass jar with acid etched initials in script: 'E, then a flower symbol, then G' in script, see photo #3 and enlarge for a better view. Apparently over 300 signatures were used for Emile Galle items and research has shown the same style E, and I have located an early mark that used a capital G, (most marks had the small 'g' and were written as E. galle, but since this is just initialed it would make sense for each initial to be capitalized. I am very confident this is a Galle piece, but I will let you be the judge. In any event, it is an antique jar and gorgeous. It is embellished with enamel and gilded details. Overall condition is 'good antique'; no chips or cracks. Underside of lid is a little bit dented but this fits into the jar and does not show. It stands 7.75 tall and is quite fat. From the estate of Maxine Coombs, Alpena, MI who had a beautiful collection of antique jars and purchased at a high end auction of her estate in Michigan. daucc

Vintage Cut Glass Biscuit Jar Vintage cut glass English biscuit jar. Incised: EPNS Made in England mark on rim. Some minor scratching on body of jar and some bubbles; well worn bottom rim. It looks like it was used as intended but I think it is very pretty despite the age/wear. It stands 7.75 tall and has a rayed cut bottom center. Age est: 1920's-40's. And, since it has some age/wear, you can actually use it instead of just displaying it! clest9/09#

Victorian Satin Glass Biscuit Jar Victorian satin or cased glass biscuit jar. Might also be Burmese glass? It displays fine on a shelf, but does have some condition flaws primarily on the lid and lid rim. The glass jar has some age/wear, but no chips or cracks. It appears that the some of the flowers are hand painted within the glass, while the leaves look like transferware. The lid is likely quadruple plate and is showing age; blotchy marks; and the handle looks like it was re-soddered at some point. But, like I said, it displays fine in a curio cabinet. 12/18br

Victorian Antique Covered Jar Victorian antique jar. Likely for biscuits or candy. c: pre 1916. It glows yellow under UV/black light indicating it's age. This is a large jar and quite an oldie judging by the amount of wear on its bottom, and waves in the glass. The book on pressed glass shows a U.S. Glass, 1891 similar jar, called 'Late Block' and 'Waffle Block'. The one in the books looks a bit fatter, but that could just be how the photo was taken. This jar sparkles and pings like crystal but not sure if it is crystal or pressed; hard to tell on this one. There are some long stretch lines on its bottom and one long cut line that follows the shape of the bottom pinwheel pattern for most of the way around on exterior bottom. Not sure why or how that got there but I'd guess it happened when it was made, or someone slammed it down on a hard surface, see pics 3-5. It also has one small surface flake on the lid. The age/wear flaws on it are hard to find and you just see them if inspecting it closely. It is 9.5 tall with lid on or 6.75 without lid on x 4.5 across top rim. A great old jar that displays very well and could be used for biscuits, scones, candy, etc. 6/13scsr

Cut Glass Biscuit Jar Antique Beautiful antique cut glass biscuit jar. Silverplate rim of jar has a tiny mark: 2398 N/- and a tiny P over that, which is why I think this might be a Pairpoint Glass item. The lid is tarnished and the edges of it are a bit uneven. You can polish the lid. Despite the minor lid flaws this is a good sized jar that displays beautifully in the curio cabinet or use if for biscotti, tea biscuits, small cookies, mints, etc. It is 7 tall x 5 wide at bottom. 7/10vw-mc

Trinac Vintage Pewter Syrup Pitcher Vintage pewter syrup pitcher and underplate. Nice older looking syrup pitcher. It is darker than the pictures are showing it. Marked on bottom: Kings Quality Pewter; crown symbol, by Trinac #422. This company was in Brooklyn N.Y. Not sure if they are still in biz, but this item is darkened with age. The pitcher stands 5 inches tall. Both items are showing age/wear but that just adds to their charm. A nice piece for your collection. 4/13scs
