Koppit Vintage Basket
Museum quality vintage Koppit basket. Fabulous, beautifully made, tightly woven basket called a 'Koppit' basket; good condition, only the strap handle is showing some wear. Internet research shows an identical basket on 2 museum sites, one has a collection of items from the 1890's; and these are said to have been made in the Phillipines. This basket has a nice darkened patina on it. Not sure of what the function of this basket was, but it is very tightly woven and well-made. This basket has three compartments, maybe for sewing items or fishing or pipe & tobacco basket? Each compartment fits into each other and the woven handle holds it all together. It is 9.5 long x 6 high x 4 wide. When you pull the top piece up, there appears to be some type of resin on each of the four bottom corners of the next basket part and there is a shallow basket, then when you pull that piece up you get a deeper basket. A true work of art!

Vintage paper mache tray. The back has the rid stamp: Made in Japan, Alcoholproof with impressed flower symbol. Likely an Alfred Nobler tray. It features flowers in a basket. It is quite old and showing some age wear. One corner has a hairline crack. This tray is 12.25 x 10.25. Likely a Japanese tea tray. Age est: 1920's-30's. 4/14sc

Vintage Basket
Beautiful vintage basket with handles. Outstanding basket; nice patina; great workmanship. I do not know if this is Native American or Oriental, but I know that it is an oldie and a beautiful basket! My educated guess is Native American. It has just a bit of wear; the interior lid rim has one broken fiber. It is very dried out and fragile. I would estimate its age to be from the 1920's or earlier. Not sure what it's function was either; sewing/fishing? This was purchased from another antique dealer who is liquidating his wife's collections. A lot of dealers who do not like to go on-line are closing their shops now and selling off their items so you savvy on-line shoppers are getting the best for less! At any rate, this will make a lovely addition to your basket collection! 4/14brcs

Antique Oriental Ebony? Shakers
Antique Oriental ebony? shakers. These are very old, heavy shakers, featuring an oriental man & woman. The man is showing a lot of age/wear, but the woman is in good antique condition. I believe this is ebonized wood. The man is 3 inches tall. Both are missing the bottom corks. Just great items to display, and they look good amongst primitives or oriental type items! Very unique items, could be worth much more!

Very old oriental paper mache tea tray. This item is very thick as compared to newer trays. It is looking its age which I estimate to be from the early 20th C. but is a great display item for an old world/Venetian style kitchen or dining room. It has red stamp on back: Made in Japan Registered Alcohol Proof. It is almost 14 x 10.5 inches.

Vintage Japan Divided Dish
Vintage Japan divided dish. c:1930's. Lovely divided dish with red backstamp: elephant head symbol, Made in Japan. This dish is 7.5 inches wide and has no visible flaws on display side. Backside has one extremely faint hairline about 1 inch long, and some crazing. Just a beautiful dish to use in your shabby chic room! According to the Gothborg site, the company that may have used this backstamp is Toshiro Shoten, Ltd.

Vintage card box and cards. Very cool vintage wood card box; one side has the King of Spades; other has the Ace of Spades, (paper mache?); Both ends open and hold 2 decks of cards. Inside of box has stamp: Made in Japan. Good overall vintage condition; plus you get the extra National Wildlife Federation box that has 2 unopened decks of cards with it!

Large Vintage Oriental Jewelry Chest
Magnificent vintage oriental black lacquered jewelry chest with agate or jade figurines which is what makes this box so lovely! See all the photos. It is quite a large chest and features 4 ladies in kimonos and one seated male. It is a statement piece. It has brass hinges and 3 drawers including and a top drawer. The lacquer is alligatored, indicating age. Some minor age/wear flaws, mainly on the interior of chest. It has a dark stain on the red silk lining of top interior drawer; some tiny spots on the sides where lacquer is nicked or crackled, and some paint loss on interior lid rim, and on the lid above one of the boats, but overall, this chest is in good condition for its age. Age est: 1930's-40's, but it could be even earlier. It is 13.25 long x 10.5 tall x 8.75 deep, and has brass handles on each side of chest. The brass has a nice darkened patina on it. Much smaller chests like this are selling at auction for over $200, why pay more? This lovely chest makes a great furniture accessory item in an ecclectic, traditional, or oriental style room! 6/flcs

Vintage Wooden Coaster Sets
Vintage wooden coasters sets. All 3 for one price = only $25/each. Age estimate 1920's-40's. All are Made in Japan. First is an attractive hand painted wood coaster set with 9 coasters inside. You need a magnifier to see the Japan mark. This box stands 3.25 tall x 3.75 wide. One of the coasters is chipped. The next set is also hand painted with a red flower and the bottom of the box has a very faint Made in Japan incised mark. Inside are 6 wood coasters. The last and largest box is not painted; it has an incised oriental scene on the top of the lid. It has an old paper label on bottom of box with Made in Japan on it. Inside are 10 aged coasters; some have little chips; and one is badly chipped. The exterior of these boxes is what is most attractive. Great display boxes; they would work well as furniture accents in a Mission/Arts & Crafts room; Southwest Style or Primitive style room. 8/19vs

Red Rooster Woodenware Trio
Vintage red rooster kitchen collectibles. All three items for one price = only $12/each. First is the recipe box with Japan ink stamp on the bottom. It has a tight split in the wood on the lid. Next is a vintage hamburger press with Narbo, Japan stamp on the bottom. The hinge is a bit wobbly. Last is a spice set with Japan inkstamp on bottom. It is fairly worn with age. Age estimate: 1930's-50's; that is when most Japanese products were imported to the U.S. Cute collectible items for display in your retro kitchen. 11/21scs

Next is a hamburger press, same mark, and good condition. Next is a cutting board marked; Woodpecker Products; nice condition. Next is a knife rest with old foil label: Cherry Wood First Quality, Japan. It is showing some age/wear on surface, but is usable. Last is a salt & pepper shaker; marked; Woodpecker Woodware. One is showing more age/wear than the other but you could touch up the paint if you are artsy/craftsy. Neat vintage items for a retro kitchen. 11/21scs

Red Rooster Vintage Snack Bowls
Vintage red rooster snack bowls. c.1950's. Both for one price! The handles have eyelets for hanging, and they both feature hand-painted roosters. The one with the single rooster has a diamond mark on the back, in center of diamoned it says: Royalty, Japan. The other one is not marked. The one with the single rooster is 6.75 wide x 11.75 long; the other one is 7.25 wide by 12 long. I also have a red rooster cannister set, spice set, and hamburger press for sale separately.

Paper Mache Vintage Tea Tray
Vintage paper mache tea tray featuring flowers. The flowers look like poinsettas. It has red inkstamp on backside: Design Patent Applied for Japan, Alcohol Proof. Alfred Nobler trays are usually marked similarly which is probably who this was made by. Very attractive tray; it is old and does have some wear and aging but is still quite lovely. It is 17 long x 12.5 wide. Age estimate: 1920's-30's. 12/10labcs-r

Andrea by Sadek Silent Butler
Small Andrea by Sadek silent butler. Very pretty; has gilt rose design. This apparently was used as a vase; it previously had old floral goop on the bottom interior which has been removed. It is in good overall vintage condition with a foil label on the bottom: Andrea by Sadek, Made in Japan, and gold numbering #7424. It is 3 tall x 4 wide x 6 long. No chips or cracks; minimal wear. 5/08esa#2040
