Carved Rock - Love Carved rock. Incised word: Love on it. This is a very heavy rock; not sure if it is granite or soapstone. It is 4 inches long x 2.5 wide. You can put some oil on it to shine it up if you want. It makes a neat paperweight too! 11/16

Vintage Statuary Head Vintage statuary head. At first look you might think this is terra cotta clay, but it is much heavier than ordinary terra cotta clay. When I tap my fingernail on it, it does not sound like terra cotta either, it sounds like statuary. It is quite hefty and stands 10.5 tall x 6.5 wide. One fleabite near bottom eyelid and 2 pinpops near backside; otherwise good condition, see pics. Not marked with any maker's marks; hollow inside. Just a really interesting piece of statuary and it looks fairly old. Roman goddess Vesta? 10/09esa#

Signed Paintings on Copper Two signed paintings on copper sheets for one price. One is signed: J. Gilles? they feature large flowers and appear to have been framed at some time in their history but were without frames when purchased. They are both almost 12 inches x almost 10 inches wide. The edges show age/wear from being once framed and where the artist's name is there is some denting on the copper. Overall, they are quite nice and would benefit from a great frame! 5/17

Antique Hand Tinted Teton's Print Antique hand tinted Teton National Park print. Very nice antique print, marked on the back: Hand Tinted by Aunt Ida Hubbard; back of print also reads: Mt. Moran at Sunrise Teton National Park, copyright by Crandall, Grand Teton National Park #1105. Bottom left front of print has raised printed words: Crandall (c) Teton Park. There is one 1" crease mark on lower left bottom of picture, but otherwise, it is in good antique condition with original wood back. I had to take it out to clean the glass, it was filthy. It measures 10 high x 12 wide. Any white stuff in the pics is sunglare, there are no faded spots on this item. The painting/hand tinting is incredibly fine on this.

Antique Celluloid Accessory Box Antique celluloid accessory box. This box once held manicure implements. The lid features a lady in a row boat. This box is in quite lovely condition for its age and has a blue silk/satin lining. It is 9.25 wide x 3 tall x 5 deep. It has an old paper label on the bottom and some numbers/letters in blue ink; fairly certain it is a vintage Italian paper label. The perfect feminine gift! These antique celluloid boxes are not usually found in this good of condition. au

Victorian Celluloid Accessory Box Victorian celluloid accessory box. Lovely box featuring a dandy gentleman and flowers on the lid. Brass hinge; pink satin/silk lining. The lining is a bit frayed and dirty; has 3 of the original manicure implements inside. One is a tiny round rouge box; another is a brush; one is smoothing brush. The exterior top is in good condition; side paper is good; front bottom paper near hinge is worn off in areas. This box is 9.5 wide x 2.5 tall x 4.75 deep. These antique boxes are really just for display today because of their fragility. (still has the old paper label on bottom; letters: VVN; almost certain this is an Italian label). Limoges Antique Signed Tray Antique hand painted artist signed Pouyat French limoges porcelain tray. c:1899. Signed, Anna K. Stiotel '99, with green J.P.L. over France backstamp. The painting is quite exquisite, and if it weren't signed Anna K. Stiotel it could easily be mistaken for a Bischoff painting. There is a lot of depth in the painting; it is not just roses on a blank background. No chips, cracks, or repairs. It does have a couple of tiny aging flaws: some white/straw marks on the pink rose and the burdgandy rose, and some wear off the gold on the handle as can be expected for a 100+ year tray. It is 12.5 long x 8.75 wide. Ornately scrolled shape with pierced handles. 5/03brcs

Antique Haviland Limoges Plates Antique Haviland Limoges signed berries cabinet plates. c:1896. 2 antique hand painted plates; the price is for both plates = $60/each. One has blackberries, one has blueberries. These are exceptionally fine, hand painted, artist signed and dated plates. Green backstamp reads: H&C over L over France; shown as mark 11, pg. 178, in M. Gaston's 3rd edit. book. Artist initial in gold: M.A.S. '96, -1896-. These plates are very similar, but not identical, and are both 8.5 inches wide; no chips or cracks; scalloped edges with raised scroll work and a lot of depth in the painting. No visible flaws in ordinary light; if you look at them under a lamplight, there are some minor, insignificant scratches as expected for 100+ year old items. These are one of a kind works of art! Lovely to display on a wall or hutch in your formal dining or living room!

Native American Basket Trio Beautiful basket trio. All three for one price and all in good condition! The handled basket is a pine needle basket and it looks fairly old too. Those baskets are primarily made in the southeastern part of the USA; S. Carolina area, and are composed of pine needles and raffia. The two flatter baskets look newer; and are likely split stich Pima or Papago baskets. The handled basket is 9 inches tall if handle is up, or 4 inches not including handle x 7.5 wide. The largest flat basket is 10.25 wide. The other one is 9 inches wide. The backsides of the flatter ones are actually more beautiful than the top sides. Both of the flatter ones have little wire loops on the backs; apparently the previous owner had hung them up. You can leave or remove the wires. 1/15vs

Click for more detail...

teacaddy10825

English Antique Tea Caddy Gorgeous antique English tea caddy. c:1825-1864 according to my research; the auction catalog says 1850. This came from the estate of a private N.Y. collector and sold at a fine auction in MI. Stunning antique box, much more beautiful than the pictures are showing it. Likely J&B, (Jennings & Bettridge; over 60% were not signed J&B). The lock has impressed 'VR' for Victoria Regina with anchor symbol, and 'Patent' mark. The original key comes with it that does work to lock it and had an old paper label 'No. 401'. This box features mother of pearl and abilone inlay in a Victorian floral design. It has 2 compartments with finials on the lids which are also carved pearl. It is lined with silver tea paper. Box is 4.5 tall x 7 long x 5 wide. It has one small area on the interior underside back of lid which was difficult to photograph that might be a small repaired spot or just the way it was made, but is a minor flaw, and not something anyone would notice without scouring it since it is on the interior. No chips or flakes. This is an outstanding antique. Price is firm; way less what I paid for it; my loss, your gain! au-CC-V-kk-11-07

This box came from the estate of a private N.Y. collector/sold at a high end auction in MI. Magnificent box that is so much nicer than the pictures show it, (the camera picks up more details than the naked eye). It is mother of pearl & abilone inlay on paper mache. 7.5 x 7.75 wide x 2.25 tall. Some alligatoring of the paper as expected. Likely English, my research indicates it could be early 1830's, by Jennings & Bettridge. Not sure if this was for jewelry or bridge accessories. The perfect gift! dm-auc11-07

Antique Patented Tole Painted Iron Doorstop Patented antique painted iron doorstop. c:1846. This item feels like solid iron; has tole style painting on it, and raised mark: M.A. Boone, #1, Pat'd Dec. 5, 1846. It looks sort of like a Dutch shoe shaped sad iron. Top of handle has initials: FGR painted on it. This would be great as a doorstop, or in your new, made to look vintage laundry room, or as a paperweight in an office! Very unique antique! Pic #4 shows the bottom of iron. djau5.06recpt

Antique Art Glass Framed Painting Antique art glass framed painting. This is a thick piece of glass, (almost like a slag glass); not sure if you'd call this reverse painting, not really the same. It features a water lily in a pond scene. The frame is like old barnwood that was in really bad condition so I shabby chic'd it. I was going to keep it and hang it in my shabby chic room but it's too big for the area. You can see the old paper on the back indicating its age. I'd guess it dates to the late 1800's-early 1900's. The frame is 18.75 x 15.5 wide. It could be reframed or left as is. The glass is about 10 x 13.25. I do not see a signature on it but that could be under the frame area. It is a really attractive and unique piece of art glass! The reason I do not think it is reverse painting is because the reverse paintings I have seen have very thin paint over the glass, whereas this item is like solid glass or it is painted glass with an overlay glaze on it, not sure. Some ugly reverse paintings I viewed on-line are shown for $250-1200. 2/16

Burled Wood Pen Holder Artist signed Manzanita burled wood pen/pencil holder. Outstanding burled wood pen/pencil, (or possibly a candle holder), signed on bottom: Clead or Elead, 88, Manzanita. It is 4.5 tall x 14 inches around center. It looks kind of small in the pics, but it is a good sized chunk of wood. This is a one of a kind work of art that would be gorgeous in your office or library!

Vintage Folk Art Cigarette Dispenser Vintage folk art wood cigarette dispenser. Likely antique or close to it. Awesome item. Good overall vintage condition and works. You press the lever and the bird picks up the cigarette from the box. The box is quite detailed, and just has one white worn spot on it, (see pic #4). The paint on the duck is quite striated, indicating a lot of age; one spot of white paint missing on the duck. This item is 6.75 long x 3.25 tall x 3.75 wide. It is very similar to the other cig dispenser I have for sale except that one is metal, and this one is wood and is much older. A great item for an office, library, tobacianna or folk art collection!
