Antique Osborn brass bird cage. Very nice condition on this antique cage; it doesn't appear to have been used for a live bird. The front metal label reads: Osborn Mfg. Co., Hudson St. New York. Has 3 wood perches and wood swing. The 2 porcelain treat cups are Made in Germany; the back part of one of the seedcup is broken off. This small cage would have been used for a finch. It stands 11 inches tall not counting the top finial. It is 12.25 wide x 9.5 deep. The bottom tray is very thin and delicate. Due to its age it probably should just be used as a display or decorative item and not for birds. Age est: 1900's or earlier. I sold one of these to a museum a few years ago and it was not in as good of condition as this one is. 1/11k#3188 |
