Circa: 1800's Manufacturer: Orson Starr
Large antique Orson Starr iron cowbell. Original red paint; raised name: 'O Starr #8'. It is 8 tall x 5.5 wide. Iron. No clapper was present but I did get one off another cowbell that fits on this one. The one in the picture is a leather string with a fishing weight which has since been removed. O Starr was located in Royal Oak, MI in the 1800's and he made these cowbells. This large bell was likely made for a bull. One side is brighter red than the other which is more faded. It is fairly common to find cowbells without their original clappers. I also have an O Start cowbell in black for sale separately. Awesome accessories for a western or country themed abode or for the garden cupboard! 10/10mm#;adjpr;sldts3/13 |
