Antique Pairpoint quadruple plate tobacco caddy. c:1880+. Very unique antique! Incised mark: Pairpoint Mfg. Co., New Bedford, Mass. Quadruple Plate with 'P' in center or diamond. #2773. Four bun feet. Two sides open. On interior there is a round attachment, not sure what it is for but it could hold a cigar in it. On the flaps that open on one side is a Chief's head and word: Strong; on other side flap are flowers and the word: Medium. So, presumably, one side is for medium tobacco and other is for the strong stuff :). Box is 6.5 tall x 5 wide x 5.5. On other ends are embossed cherubs holding things that look like musical instruments, (one is a triangle, one is a round tambourine?) 10/10lag#3365 |
